Givens Highland Farms is hiring a full-time Turf Crew Member to join our Grounds team! The primary purpose of your position is to maintain the appearance of the campus so that it is presentable at all times and to assure that the highest degree of quality care will be provided to our residents and their surrounding environment. Ideally, this candidate will work four 10-hour days per week.

What you'll do:

  • Keep the campus clean and neat by picking up litter, fallen limbs, etc. and cleaning silt from curbs
  • Assist with turf maintenance, as needed, including trimming on banks and natural areas
  • Keep shrub and flower beds clean, weeded, edged, and mulched
  • Be familiar with and perform proper Integrated Pest Management techniques
  • Assist in the management and identification of turf grass and its related pests
  • Possess ability to use mowers, trimmers, blowers, etc. 
  • Assist as directed with snow and ice removal
  • Install and maintain expansive areas of turf

What you'll need:

  • Must have, as a minimum, six months experience in a grounds worker capacity
  • High School GED or equivalent is preferred
  • Must possess a valid North Carolina Driver's License
  • Must be able to work in all weather conditions including, but not limited to, winter weather and 95 degree heat
  • Turf grass knowledge or certification is a plus
  • Must have patience, tact, cheerful disposition, enthusiasm, as well as the ability to handle residents, staff, and visitors, based on whatever maturity level at which they are currently functioning

Compensation is $19.00-$20.50 per hour, based on experience, plus our comprehensive benefits package!
