Givens Highland Farms is hiring a full-time Fleet Coordinator/Small Engine Mechanic to join our Grounds team! The primary purpose of your position is to maintain the appearance of the campus so that it is presentable at all times and to assure that the highest degree of quality care can be provided to our residents and their surrounding environment.
What you'll do:
- In coordination with the Facilities Director, responsible for vehicle/equipment procurement and maintenance
- Obtain DOT number for busses and maintain compliance with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration requirements for both inner-state travel and intra-state travel
- Ensure registration, licenses, and inspections are up to date and recorded properly
- Possess the ability to safely operate a wide variety of small equipment and heavy machinery
- Set up maintenance schedules to ensure vehicles/equipment are kept in top condition
- Manage the contracting and/or outsourcing of specific maintenance functions or operations
- Coordinate with vehicle/equipment operator to provide orientation and training
- Possess the ability to safely operate a wide variety of small equipment and heavy machinery
- Performs any other duties and/or tasks that may be assigned on an as-needed basis by an authorized supervisor.
What you'll need:
- Must have, as a minimum, six months experience in a grounds worker capacity, or related field
- Previous experience with heavy machinery not required, but preferred
- High School GED or equivalent is preferred
- Must possess a valid North Carolina Driver’s License
- Must be able to work in all weather conditions including, but not limited to, winter weather and 95 degree heat
- Must have patience, cheerful disposition, enthusiasm, as well as the ability to handle residents, staff, and visitors, based on whatever maturity level at which they are currently functioning
Compensation is $24.00 - $26.50 per hour, based on experience, plus our comprehensive benefits package!
