Investment Banking Vice President: Healthcare

New York, NY

Firm Overview

GLC Advisors & Co. is a leading independent advisory firm providing objective, conflict-free advice on complex strategic and financial transactions. The firm operates under a senior-led execution model, partnering closely with boards of directors, management teams, financial sponsors and credit investors on critical corporate decisions.

GLC has advised on landmark transactions including Hertz, iHeartMedia, Puerto Rico, and Toys “R” Us, among many others. The firm’s senior professionals collectively have advised on 900+ completed transactions representing more than $800 billion in aggregate transaction value, with prior experience at leading bulge-bracket and elite boutique investment banks. The firm is consistently engaged on high-impact, analytically intensive mandates across mergers and acquisitions, capital structure advisory, restructurings, and valuation matters.

GLC Advisors maintains offices in New York, Denver, Los Angeles, and San Francisco.

Role Overview

We are a leading investment bank with a strong healthcare practice, providing restructuring advisory, M&A advisory, private capital raising, and strategic counsel exclusively to companies and investors across the healthcare spectrum. Our senior bankers bring decades of operating and transaction experience, and our team works as true partners to founders, management teams, sponsors and credit investors navigating consequential decisions. We are looking for a VP who is as comfortable in a client meeting as they are in a model.

Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end execution on restructuring advisory, sell-side M&A, buy-side advisory, and private capital raises (growth equity, debt, PIPE) across healthcare services, pharma/biotech, medtech, and healthcare IT/digital health.
  • Serve as the primary day-to-day client contact. At a boutique, VPs are often the face of the deal; you will run diligence calls, manage buyer/investor outreach, and present directly to board-level stakeholders.
  • Actively participate in business development and help identify new mandates, join pitches, and begin cultivating your own network of founder, sponsor, corporate development and credit investor relationships.
  • Build and review financial models (DCF, LBO, precedent transactions, accretion/dilution) and lead production of CIMs, management presentations, and process materials.
  • Mentor and develop junior team members; as a lean team, VP-level leadership on analyst/associate development is expected and valued.
  • Track sector M&A activity, private financing trends, regulatory developments, and valuation benchmarks to inform client strategy and deal positioning.

Qualifications

GLC Advisors seeks candidates with a demonstrated record of excellence, including:

    • 5–8 years of investment banking experience with dedicated healthcare coverage; candidates from bulge bracket, elite boutique, or sector-focused advisory firms, with leveraged finance and services experience a plus.
    • A genuine interest in healthcare as a sector and intellectual curiosity about science, policy, and market structure matters here in ways it may not at a generalist firm.
    • Comfort operating with autonomy. This is not a high-headcount process bank; you will manage complexity with leaner support and be expected to exercise judgment independently.
    • Strong financial modeling skills and ability to communicate valuation and deal logic clearly to non-technical audiences, including founders and boards.
    • Early signs of origination instinct with a developing network and demonstrated interest in building client relationships over time.
    • Exceptional analytical capability, intellectual curiosity, and professional judgment.
    • Advanced financial modeling, valuation, and financial statement analysis skills.
    • Ability to independently manage complex workstreams in high-pressure, time-sensitive environments.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • High level of attention to detail and commitment to quality.
    • FINRA Series 79 or Series 7 is strongly preferred (required within 90 days of start date).

Compensation & Culture

  • Meaningful deal responsibility. VP’s here lead deals, not support them. You will have real ownership early on.
  • Promotion Paths can be accelerated for those who demonstrate origination capability and sector expertise.
