
CA Industrial Trainee
About the Role:
Glean is seeking a CA Industrial Trainee to support core finance and compliance functions while gaining hands-on exposure in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. In this role, you will work closely with the finance team on financial reporting, month-end close activities, payroll verification, audits, and regulatory compliance. You will assist with preparing financial statements, maintaining fixed asset registers, performing GL reconciliations, and supporting internal and statutory audits.This opportunity is ideal for a Chartered Accountancy student eligible for an Industrial Trainee position, with a strong foundation in accounting principles, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
You will:
- Assist in the preparation and analysis of financial statements (Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) in compliance with accounting standards.
- Participate in month-end and year-end financial closing activities.
- Help prepare variance analysis and management reports.
- Assist in internal and statutory audits by providing necessary documents and information.
- Help review internal controls and suggest improvements for compliance and efficiency.
- Participate in the evaluation of operational risks and recommend risk mitigation strategies.
- Support Fixed Asset Register (FAR) maintenance, including tagging additions, disposals, transfers
- assisting with monthly depreciation runs and reconciliations between FAR and GL
- Assist with prepaid and insurance amortization schedules and related month‑end entries for India.
- Help with selected GL reconciliations and schedules (e.g., employee benefits, wellness reimbursements, other payroll‑related costs) using detailed GL/ FAR exports.
- Verify payroll master data, including employee names, designations, salary structures, and statutory deductions.
- Review of employee records for accurate start dates, termination dates, and any payroll adjustments such as bonuses, overtime, or deductions.
- Reconcile payroll accounts, ensuring accuracy and resolving any discrepancies.
- Assist in the preparation of payroll-related reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with corporate laws and regulations, payroll regulations, and other applicable financial laws.
- Stay updated with changes in accounting standards, tax laws, and payroll regulations.
- Participate in special projects or assignments as requested by the finance leadership team.
- Provide support in business process improvements and automation initiatives.
About you:
- Pursuing Chartered Accountancy and eligible for an Industrial Trainee position with 12 months+ of articleship remaining.
- Prior exposure to financial reporting, payroll management, auditing, and taxation during articleship would be an added advantage.
- Good understanding of accounting principles, payroll processes, and financial concepts.
- Basic knowledge of payroll regulations, direct and indirect taxes (Income Tax, GST).
- Proficiency in MS office and accounting. Knowledge of ERP would be an added advantage.
- Analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple tasks.

- This role is hybrid (4 days a week in our Bangalore office)
