Prospect14 focuses on the scaled origination and development of renewable energy and energy storage projects in multiple markets in the United States.  Since its inception, Prospect14 has originated approximately 5GWdc of solar and solar + storage projects.

Prospect14 is developing utility-scale and community solar energy projects across North America. We enable landowners, power purchasers, and later-stage project developers to participate in the rapid growth of the solar energy market.

Position Overview:

The Project Development team is charged with leading development of assets from hand-off from the Origination team to construction ready. The Development - Project Manager will work closely with all internal teams and regularly interact with the Prospect14 management team. Prospect14 Develops many of its projects under Development Service Agreements with customers. In addition to thoughtful project development skills, our Project Managers excel at customer management.  This is a broad role in a collaborative team environment. We are seeking a candidate local to the Ardmore / Philadelphia region, but will consider remote-based position which may require frequent (up to 30%) travel to project sites or stakeholder meetings.

Key Responsibilities

The Development - Project Manager reports to the Vice President of Solar Development, and performs a variety of activities in support of the Company's project development efforts, including:

  • Lead the development of solar projects from Origination handoff by coordinating and managing various internal and external resources.
  • Manage relationships with key business partners
  • Manage all project data, schedules, budgets and documents
  • Work closely with real estate department to facilitate real estate negotiations / agreements and maintain landowner relationships.
  • Conduct project site assessments to identify fatal flaws to be addressed early in the project life cycle in collaboration with internal and external technical services such as legal, engineering, finance, and project sales.
  • Develop competitive pricing strategies and manage resource assessment processes.
  • Take a lead role in obtaining certain local, state and/or federal permits working with internal and external resources.
  • Represent Prospect14 with customers, landowners, state and local officials and other stakeholder engagement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Engineering or related discipline required
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience developing and permitting renewable energy projects
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver on community solar and distributed generation energy development projects
  • Solid oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to take initiatives and work well within a team
  • Priority management skills
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to details
  • Ability to quickly work into new tasks and accommodate a dynamic environment
  • Willingness to travel as needed to assure the project’s completion on time and within budget

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PMP
  • Relationships with PA and MD landowners, or a network that allows for swift introductions to potential lessors.
  • Extensive experience in the solar energy or renewable energy sector.
  • Experience handing a high volume of projects simultaneously
  • Prior experience leading teams and managing large-scale land or real estate development projects.
