Accounting Associate

We are seeking an Accounting Associate to join our dynamic and growing company in the New York office to support Head of Finance. GLMX’s finance team is located in New York City, and it oversees all accounting responsibilities to the affiliates in US, UK, Singapore, and Netherlands.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist VP of Finance, including monthly consolidations and financial reporting, including annual audits across all entities.
- Evaluate existing accounting policies and improve processes and systems to promote operational excellence.
- Prepare regulatory reporting for broker-dealer entities and overseas entities.
- Enhance the current accounting infrastructure to support the firm's growth with emphasis on management reporting.
- Assist in tax analysis for global strategies and establish a global tax ledger.
- Utilize math skills to analyze key financial data.
- Manage intercompany transactions.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, tax accounting, and financial reporting.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting.
- CPA (or equivalent license).
- 4-6 years of experience in accounting. Big 4 accounting firm experience is a plus.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- A practical problem-solver; proactive and able to learn on the job in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of broker-dealer regulatory issues is a plus.
- Will be required to pass FINRA SIE and Series 99 exams; Series 27 registration is optional but recommended.
- Has an understanding of GAAP and maintains industry-related technical expertise.
- The ideal candidate will have a strong accounting background and a proven track record of successfully advising, influencing, and representing an international company with intricate regulatory and financial matters.

The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is $125,000 USD to $135,000 USD, plus a discretionary annual bonus. Actual salary may vary depending on job-related factors, which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
