
Knowledge Management Consultant
The Global Energy Alliance for People and Planet (GEAPP) brings together philanthropy including the IKEA Foundation, The Rockefeller Foundation and the Bezos Earth Fund, governments, technology, policy and development partners, and the private sector to tackle the twin challenges of energy access and transition in emerging and developing countries. Position Overview:
GEAPP is seeking a full-time Knowledge Management Consultant for a period of 10 weeks to support the newly established Partnerships & Philanthropy team with key knowledge management activities. This role will focus on database management, Salesforce system optimization, and file management restructuring to enhance organizational efficiency. This is a great opportunity to support a leading renewable energy organization working around the globe to foster the transition away from carbon energy.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Donor Accountability Manager, the Knowledge Management Intern will be responsible for:
Salesforce CRM Management (60%)
• Lead data clean-up efforts for existing accounts, contacts, and opportunities, collaborating with the fundraising team, relationship managers, and technical teams to ensure information accuracy.
• Consolidate various fundraising and relationship trackers for Salesforce integration to meet relevant reporting requirements.
• Identify information gaps in Salesforce and partner with relevant team members to solicit updates from the wider organization.
• Enter prospective funder details and contact information into Salesforce.
• Create standardized data entry protocols to ensure consistency across Salesforce.
• Assist in developing custom reports and dashboards to track fundraising progress and donor engagement.
File Management System Restructuring (20%)
• Review and reorganize the Philanthropy & Fundraising team’s digital file management system.
• Develop and implement standardized file naming conventions and folder structures.
• Create documentation for file management protocols and train team members on proper usage.
• Archive outdated materials and ensure version control for critical documents
• Implement metadata tagging system for improved document searchability
• Identify and eliminate duplicate records and redundant information
Knowledge Sharing & Documentation (20%)
• Document best practices for data management and CRM usage
• Create training materials for staff on CRM functionality and data entry procedures
• Participate in team meetings to share updates on data management progress
• Assist in developing standard operating procedures for knowledge management purposes including developing training materials
• Compile lessons learned and recommendations for long-term knowledge management strategy
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Information Management, Business Administration, Nonprofit Management, or related field
- Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail
- Proficiency with database management concepts and data validation techniques
- Previous experience with Salesforce or similar CRM systems
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Skills
- Understanding of nonprofit fundraising processes and donor management
- Interest in renewable energy and sustainable development
- Experience with data visualization and reporting tools
- Familiarity with document management systems and file organization best practices
Location: Successful candidates will be expected to work on a hybrid schedule from the GEAPP Washington, DC office.
Availability: Candidates must be available for a full-time 10 week (2-3 month) contract. Start date is aimed for mid June.
