Software Engineer III - Full Stack, Angular, Java, AWS

GHX is seeking a Software Engineer III with a proven track record in designing, developing, and delivering high-quality, scalable software solutions across the full stack. This role is responsible for the creation, implementation, and support of both existing and next-generation products used in the healthcare supply chain. The ideal candidate brings strong, modern Angular expertise (particularly Angular 17+), combined with solid Java and J2EE development experience, proficiency in AWS cloud services, and a firm command of CI/CD pipelines and software design patterns. 

Duties and Responsibilities 

 

  • Design and implement scalable, secure, and maintainable software solutions aligned with business needs, creating flexible and reusable components across the full stack. 
  • Build and modernise user-facing applications using modern Angular, TypeScript, and component-based front-end architecture. 
  • Lead technical design for complex features and initiatives, authoring clear technical documentation and ensuring adherence to IT control policies. 
  • Develop and support backend services and integrations using Java, AWS services, and database technologies. 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address technical dependencies and deliver high-quality products. 
  • Identify root causes of system challenges, analyse upstream and downstream impacts, and recommend practical, broad-reaching solutions. 
  • Follow best practices in development, testing, CI/CD, and Agile workflows, and build strong working relationships to influence technical decisions across teams. 
  • Maintain a deep understanding of system architecture, integrations, and data flows. 
  • Actively use AI-powered development tools to improve productivity and code quality. 

Required Qualifications 

  • 5 or more years of experience in software development with a BS Degree in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience. 
  • 4 or more years of experience developing modern web applications with Angular, including hands-on experience with Angular 17+ or newer. 
  • Strong proficiency with TypeScript, component-based UI development, reactive programming patterns, and front-end application architecture. 
  • 3 or more years of experience designing and implementing backend services using Java and J2EE technologies. 
  • Experience with AWS technologies including EC2, SNS, SQS, S3, SES, ECS, and Lambda. 
  • Expert-level experience with databases such as MongoDB, Elasticsearch, and MySQL. 
  • Currently using AI tools to enhance software development productivity, and actively expanding that practice as the tooling evolves. 
  • Familiarity in applying design best practices, including performance, scalability, robustness, and resiliency. 
  • Prior experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment. 
  • Must be able to work independently and as part of a team on multiple overlapping projects. 
  • Proven track record of successfully delivering large, complex, cross-functional projects. 
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills. 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities 

  • Strong ability to build and maintain modern Angular applications with attention to usability, performance, maintainability, and component reuse. 
  • Strong communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences, including the ability to articulate complex concepts clearly. 
  • Effective collaboration with product, design, QA, DevOps, and backend engineering partners across varying levels of technical expertise. 
  • Strong understanding of system-wide impacts and interdependencies across products, teams, and the broader organisation. 
  • Ability to contribute to technical direction, improve engineering practices, and identify opportunities for thoughtful modernisation. 
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality outcomes in a complex product environment. 
  • Practical problem-solving skills, including the ability to diagnose and resolve issues across front-end, backend, data, and cloud service boundaries. 

 

Estimated Salary Range for this position: $91,000 to $121,000

The base salary range represents the anticipated low and high end of the GHX’s salary range for this position. The base salary is one component of GHX’s total compensation package for employees.
