About the Role

Lead the org-wide data platform that powers every product and AI workflow across the company — from our award-winning AI-powered Global HR & Compliance Product to the Agentic AI Platform.

This platform is the foundation of every product, feature, and AI-driven decision: it ingests, processes, and serves data from hundreds of internal services, structured business and third-party applications, and 100K+ semi-structured Knowledge articles.

You will have full ownership and technical leadership over this mission-critical platform — shaping architecture, standards, and engineering practices — while enabling distributed teams to deliver reliable, high-quality, and secure data services at scale.

What You Will Do

Lead Data Platform Teams

  • Build, mentor, and grow high-performing distributed engineering teams that thrive in a culture of autonomy, ownership, and operational excellence.
  • Create an environment where engineers are empowered to innovate, take ownership, and make impactful decisions.

Own the Data Platform Infrastructure

  • Lead design, development, and evolution of all core data platform services: streaming/event ingestion, lakehouse, and Knowledge Platform.
  • Manage all organizational data flows, including:
    • 100K+ semi-structured Knowledge articles
    • Structured data from a wide range of business and third-party applications
    • Real-time event streams from internal services powering critical workflows
  • Ensure operational health, reliability, performance, and cost efficiency of the platform.
  • Drive data quality, schema governance, security, and compliance standards that support AI workflows, product development, and business decisions.
  • Provide tools, APIs, and best practices that enable product-aligned teams to build pipelines efficiently while following platform standards.
  • Balance multiple dimensions of responsibility: security, compliance, cost optimization, reliability, operational monitoring, quality, and governance.

Drive Platform Reliability & Operational Excellence

  • Own platform uptime, monitoring, and incident response, ensuring teams can rely on the platform to deliver critical products and AI features.
  • Implement proactive validation, monitoring, and alerting to prevent downstream issues.
  • Lead root cause analysis and continuous improvement across all services.

Partner with Data Engineering Teams

  • Collaborate with product-aligned teams to ensure platform adoption, integration, and best practices.
  • Provide guidance and tooling while enabling other teams to deliver features autonomously.

Contribute to Platform Architecture

  • Shape technical strategy for distributed systems, streaming infrastructure, lakehouse, and Knowledge Platform.
  • Make high-impact architectural decisions affecting all products, AI workflows, and business-critical processes.

Improve Engineering Discipline

  • Drive adoption of modern engineering practices: CI/CD, automated testing, documentation, and design reviews.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and high-quality delivery.

Reliability, Governance & Multidimensional Ownership

  • Proven experience in platform reliability, monitoring, incident management, and operational excellence.
  • Experience defining, enforcing, and monitoring schema governance, data quality, security, and compliance standards.
  • Ability to balance cost, performance, reliability, and operational health across complex systems.

Technical Fluency

  • Strong programming skills in Python and SQL.
  • Experience building tools and APIs for internal engineering teams.
  • Ability to guide architectural decisions and design reviews at a high level.
