Senior Legal Counsel
(Mexico, Canada, Dominican Republic)
As part of our expansion, we are seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to provide strategic legal guidance on international contracts, compliance, and risk management while partnering with our leadership, product, and commercial teams.
What You’ll Do
- Lead and manage international B2B contract negotiations, ensuring terms are commercially sound and compliant with applicable laws.
- Draft, review, and negotiate complex commercial agreements, including SaaS, technology, partnership, vendor, and enterprise-level customer contracts.
- Provide counsel on international employment law matters, supporting HR operations across multiple jurisdictions.
- Advise on data protection and privacy regulations globally, including GDPR, LGPD, PIPEDA, and other cross-border compliance requirements.
- Partner with product, compliance, and security teams to anticipate and address regulatory risks related to global HR tech, SaaS, payments, and payroll.
- Support leadership with strategic legal insights for corporate governance, risk management, and operational decisions.
- Monitor and interpret regulatory and legislative developments that impact HR technology, payroll, global payments, and workforce management.
- Build and manage relationships with external counsel across different regions.
What We’re Looking For
- 5–10 years of experience practicing law, ideally in a SaaS, fintech, HR tech, or global services environment.
- Proven expertise in international B2B contract negotiation with exceptional drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Full professional proficiency in English (written and spoken); additional language skills a plus (Spanish or French preferred).
- Strong working knowledge of international data protection and privacy laws (GDPR, CCPA, PIPEDA, etc.).
- Experience in international employment law across multiple jurisdictions.
- Ability to manage competing priorities, work under pressure, and provide practical solutions in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
- Strategic mindset with strong business acumen and a collaborative, hands-on approach.
- Licensed to practice law in Dominican Republic, Mexico, Canada, or another relevant jurisdiction.
