About the Role
As a Senior Analytics Engineer, you will be responsible for building and fine tuning a scalable data warehouse that drives impactful business outcomes as GlossGenius continues to grow. You will partner cross-functionally with analytics, data engineering and data savvy business stakeholders to design reliable and consistent datasets that serve as the foundation for understanding customer behavior in our product. Event data will be a major focus for this role, so we are looking for someone who is excited to develop the technical foundation for event streaming, modeling, and schema management.
You will report to the Head of Analytics Engineering. You can be based remotely in the greater San Francisco, Seattle, or Miami area, OR hybrid (Tuesdays & Thursdays in-office) from our NYC headquarters.
What You’ll Do
- Transform event data into user-friendly datasets to power user funnel visualizations, session-level metrics, and A/B testing
- Be the team expert on server-side event tracking and telemetry, including working with product and engineering teams to ensure we instrument our product to capture the right data
- Own the definitions and contracts for events data and pipelines
- Develop reverse ETL pipelines for marketing, sales, and customer success tools
- Serve as an architect for our dbt project and analytics stack as a whole
What We’re Looking For
- 4+ years of experience with at least two building data pipelines and working with data technologies
- Expert proficiency in SQL
- Experience with event streaming or real-time data technologies is a plus (open source or vendor)
- Familiarity with the tools in our stack (Segment, Fivetran, Snowflake, dbt, Looker, Airflow) is preferred
- A naturally inquisitive, critical thinker, who enjoys and is effective at solving problems
- A demonstrated self-starter with strong communication and project management skills

The starting base salary for this role in New York and California is between $160,000-$178,000 + target equity + benefits. The base salary offered is dependent upon many factors including skills, experience, location, and education. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
