About the Role

As an Analytics Engineering Manager, you will lead the team responsible for GlossGenius's core data modeling infrastructure: the models, frameworks, and systems that both power day-to-day operations and inform business strategy across the company.

You will partner cross-functionally with Product, Finance, Sales, CX, and GTM to design reliable, consistent data models that serve as the foundation for understanding customer behavior, measuring business performance, and activating insights in operational tools.

A core part of this role is acting as a translator between data producers (Engineering, Data Engineering) and data consumers (Analytics, Data Science, business stakeholders), ensuring that upstream schema decisions align with downstream reporting and activation needs. GlossGenius moves fast to ship new product features; a key responsibility is ensuring data models keep pace with new data being produced by those features, so the business has immediate access to measure success and inform iteration.

You will report to the VP of Analytics. You must be commutable to our NYC headquarters and will operate in a hybrid environment. We default to being in-office 3-4 days per week with required attendance on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

What You’ll Do

  • Manage, mentor, and grow a team of high-performing Analytics Engineers that owns the transformation lifecycle of data in dbt and beyond
  • Define and execute the AE roadmap in partnership with stakeholders to ensure they have clean, interpretable data to inform decisions and power operations
  • Prioritize strategic initiatives alongside operational needs and stakeholder requests
  • Define and enforce modeling standards across domains (Product, Finance, Sales, CX, and GTM) to ensure a consistent and efficient developer experience in dbt
  • Partner with Data Engineering on schema design for new features and event instrumentation
  • Own the dbt project’s CI/CD pipeline and testing framework, iterate on documentation and code review practices, and balance development velocity with data reliability
  • Expand domain coverage and data context within the Hex-powered semantic layer to drive the adoption and retention of self-serve analytics for analysts, PMs, and operators.
  • Own the systems that push modeled data into operational tools and partner with go-to-market teams on segments, triggers, and activation logic.

What We’re Looking For

  • 2+ years of management experience
  • 6+ years of experience with at least two building data pipelines and working with data technologies
  • Expert proficiency in SQL and dbt
  • Experience with event streaming or real-time data technologies is a plus (open source or vendor)
  • Familiarity with the tools in our stack (Segment, Fivetran, Snowflake, dbt, Hex, Airflow) is preferred
  • A naturally inquisitive, critical thinker, who enjoys and is effective at solving problems
  • A demonstrated self-starter with strong communication and project management skills
