Meet the team:
The Network Platform team consists of a group of Network, RF, software and cybersecurity engineers responsible for the end-to-end communication system design for Glydways. The team owns both the network and cybersecurity that is responsible for providing secure, reliable, and diverse V2X communications. We work together with Software, Vehicle Hardware, and the Autonomy engineering teams to produce cutting edge products that unlock the future of transit systems. As a network engineer in the Network Platform team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the security architecture for Operational Technology (OT) networks that integrate technologies such as 5G cellular, WiFi, Ultra-wide band, GNSS, automotive Ethernet, and more.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Design and implement a modern secure high-observable, high-reliability wired/wireless network for a next-generation transit system
- Maintain and optimize network performance by monitoring network availability, throughput, and latency
- Engage in component and source selection for wired/wireless network components
- Design/Implement/Maintain Glydways’ on-site test network at our autonomous vehicle testing facility
- Design/Implement/Maintain Glydways’ production network deployments
- Deploy and support production network systems across operational sites
- Conduct penetration testing of transit network systems, components, and applications (wired/wireless, embedded, IoT, SCADA, and IT systems)
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science.
- Cisco CCNA certification required, Cisco CCNP desired
- Experience implementing, instrumenting, and maintaining high-reliability critical OT network infrastructure
- Experience in wireless network infrastructure definition, sourcing and deployment
- Familiarity with software source code testing activities
- Proficiency with the Linux networking stack
- Well-versed in network and security infrastructure testing
- Able to write test cases
- Perform testing activities and oversee third party contractors
- Hands-on experience with network test equipment
- Perform penetration testing activities
- Hands-on experience with tools such as Burp Suite, Metasploit, Kali Linux, Nmap, Nessus, Wireshark, etc.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to document findings and collaborate across technical teams
- Willingness to travel to project sites and provide support as needed
