Meet the team:

The Infrastructure team at Glydways is a vital and integrated part of bringing the Glydways system to deployment. We go beyond civil infrastructure, working collaboratively across the company, strengthening  the connection and synergy between the Glydcar, Glydways systems, and traditional infrastructure. Our team is actively shaping and defining the infrastructure standards essential for the Glydways system. Join a team that not only envisions what exists but also strives toward what could be.

 

Roles & Responsibilities:

Glydways is seeking an experienced electrical engineer who possesses a solid  background and knowledge in their field with a track record of innovative work.  We are looking for someone who is open-minded and consistently challenges the status quo.  The ideal candidate should not only identify what needs to be done but also takes initiative to ensure that tasks, regardless of their simplicity or complexity, are completed. 

  • Collaborate closely with the various teams within Glydways (consisting of product, engineering, system planning and design, and project management) on design challenges, infrastructure technical issues, preliminary planning, and design needs. 
  • Effectively communicate infrastructure project needs ensuring alignment between Glydways’ system and vehicle design and development with respect to infrastructure. 
  • Help coordinate, prioritize, and drive project needs in partnership with the engineering team to develop the best technical solution and maintain project timelines. 
  • Meet with outside civil engineering consultants, contractors, and local entities as needed, per project basis, to ensure Glydways design requirements are upheld (typically virtual).
  • Help to develop and clearly articulate the Glydways MEP and systems wayside requirements to effectively communicate to outside clients and the internal team.
  • Assist in continuous development and innovation of Glydways Infrastructure requirements. 
  • Provide project related support as needed, to include conceptual or preliminary design and oversight, as well as, review consultant design work and provide infrastructure guidance.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Minimum 6 years of experience ideally with an electrical background focused in one of the following, but not required: 
  • Design through construction, to include design, calculations, estimate development, quality control, and project management.  Knowledge of site design experience and knowledge of state and local municipality requirements, and zoning and building codes is beneficial.
  • Familiarity and interest in public transit and transportation. 
  • Innate comfort in fast-paced, dynamic environments where prioritization and fast outputs are expected.
  • Willingness to learn new technologies and processes.
  • Preferred experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and the ability to work across various time zones.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in a team environment, while being self-motivated and capable of identifying and defining your workstream. 
  • Ability to organize, track, and drive a task with little direction.

Software Experience 

  • Proficiency in CADD, including: 
    • The ability to modify and put redlines directly into CADD 
    • Able to communicate these with external parties
    • Understand Civil CADD drawings and plans 
  • G-Suite preferred

 

Travel Expectations - Estimated 25%
