Operations Manager

Atlanta, GA

Who we are:

Glydways is reimagining what public transit can be. We believe that mobility is the gateway to opportunity—connecting people to housing, education, employment, commerce, and care. By making transportation more accessible, affordable, and sustainable, we empower communities to thrive and unlock economic and social prosperity.

Our mission is to revolutionize transit with a solution that delivers high capacity, exceptional user experiences, unmatched affordability, and minimal environmental impact.

The Glydways system is a groundbreaking network of carbon-neutral, interconnected transit pathways powered by standardized autonomous vehicles on dedicated roadways. Operating 24/7 with on-demand access, it offers personalized and efficient mobility—without the burden of heavy upfront infrastructure costs or ongoing taxpayer subsidies.

With Glydways, we’re building more than a transportation system; we’re creating a future where everyone, everywhere, has the freedom to move.

About the Project:

The Glydways Atlanta ATN Pilot Project is the first passenger carrying Automated Transit Network deployed by Glydways in the United States, running from the Airport SkyTrain at the Georgia International Convention Center to the Gateway Center Arena. It spans construction, system integration and testing, commissioning, and pilot passenger service alongside project sponsors, contractors, the operating organization, local authorities, and emergency responders.

Glydways has established an independent Safety, Quality and Compliance organization, applying established transit and rail safety standards to a new class of automated technology. On the Atlanta site, the safety function owns the site safety management system, confirms that required controls are implemented before work and service proceed, and works in close partnership with Test and Commissioning, Operations, Maintenance, Quality, Engineering, contractors, local authorities, and emergency responders to sustain them.

About the Role:

The Operations Support Manager is the on-site local lead for the ATL ATN Pilot Project, responsible for overseeing day-to-day operational delivery from construction through pilot revenue service. This role bridges project delivery and operations — coordinating with the general contractor and subcontractors during construction, leading field commissioning and testing activities, and standing up the ATL operations organization for pilot launch. The ideal candidate is an outgoing, people-forward leader equally comfortable managing construction-phase field coordination and building the operational team and culture that will carry the project into service.

This role reports directly to the Project Director (ATL ATN) and serves as the local extension of the Project Delivery team on the Atlanta site.

This is an in-person position in Atlanta, GA and will start as a one year contract. The role will start with an in-person training in Richmond, CA

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Strong background in field operations, or transit operations — rail, BRT, airport operations, or complex transportation systems preferred.

  • Local Atlanta-area candidate; must be available on-site throughout construction, testing, and pilot phases.
  • Demonstrated ability to own and manage operational KPIs; data-driven approach to performance tracking and reporting.
  • Experience managing hourly, part-time, or intern-level staff; comfortable building and leading early-stage teams.
  • Outgoing, engaging, and people-forward personality — able to represent the project positively with riders, stakeholders, and community members at public-facing events and pilot launches.
  • Hands-on experience in commissioning, field integration, and system troubleshooting preferred.
  • Familiarity with system safety, reliability engineering, operational testing practices, and incident management.
  • Demonstrated success working across diverse internal technical teams and external contractors.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; comfortable presenting to leadership and stakeholders.

Nice-to-Haves:

  • PE or PMP certification is highly desired.
  • Experience with the Atlanta transit market or similar operating environments is a plus.
