Who would you be working with?
We are looking to hire an Operations Engineer intern to work in our Customer Support team. You will be responsible for enhancing and automating our processes as we grow, creating smooth and efficient workflows for our support agents. This internship is ideal for someone who is studying IT or Computer Science and is interested in a career in Solutions engineering, IT or DevOps.
For this role, you will be working with our talented Operations Engineer who supports and builds tools for our Customer Service Team. Because of this, you will be directly impacting the experience of our users and helping the CS Team offer the best support they can.
Your day-to-day role and tasks will be managed by our OE, however, you will also have plenty of opportunity to learn about CS agents’ work, speak with them and understand their pain points, work on solutions and pitch your ideas to the Senior CS Technicians.
This is the role for you if you’re excited to work on the things listed below:
- Feedback Analysis and Improvement
- Understand our products and internal systems, and how they work together.
- Analyze our tools and workflows to identify areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with support agents to gather feedback on tools and identify pain points.
- Project planning and implementation
- Research documentation for our internal tools and identify improvement opportunities.
- Plan, design, and implement new tools or modify existing ones to streamline support workflows.
- Estimate project timelines, costs, and resource requirements.
- Build and integrate projects into our systems, ensuring quality and functionality.
- Test, troubleshoot, and maintain tools.
- Document and train support agents on new tools and processes.
- Metrics and data reporting
- Identify opportunities for better data reporting based on internal processes.
- Build dashboards and monitoring systems from raw data.
- Present data insights and recommend improvements to the team.
What you need to be successful
- Familiarity with REST APIs and basic authentication methods.
- Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and web architecture.
- Experience with Python and JavaScript (Node.js).
- Comfortable using the command line (CLI).
- Experience using Git commands for version control.
- Understanding of automation, integrations, and AI tools.
- Familiarity with Goodnotes Support and the Goodnotes app is a plus.
- Strong writing skills with a focus on clarity, conciseness, and technical accuracy.
- Initiative to reach out to agents in our team to receive their input and feedback.
- Ability to explain technical concepts in simple, easy-to-understand language.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to turn data and feedback into actionable insights.
- A passion for helping people and improving processes. Bonus points for experiencing working in a customer service role.
- Enthusiasm for learning new technologies and developing new skills.
