Join us! The GoFundMe team is searching for our next Senior Analytics Engineer to join our newly created Analytics Engineering squad, part of the Data Platform team. This is a unique opportunity to help shape the mindset, standards, and best practices of building data products that become trusted and strategic assets across the company.
As a Senior Analytics Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and building scalable, high-quality, and performant data models, implementing trusted metrics, and unlocking data-driven decision-making through reliable and well-documented data products. The models you build will be foundational pieces that will power AI-assisted discovery and insights generation.
This is a hybrid position. Candidates considered for this role will be located in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
The Job
- Design and implement star schema models and optimize transformations in our data warehouse.
- Drive alignment with stakeholders and data partners on metrics definitions and implementation
- Work with data engineers on required data ingestions and quality requirements
- Build, test, and maintain scalable pipelines using dbt, ensuring quality, performance, and modularity.
- Manage workflows and CI/CD with GitHub and dbt Cloud.
- Implement and monitor data observability.
- Develop and maintain trusted metrics and semantic layers to ensure consistency across reporting.
- Create and maintain high-quality documentation, standards, and naming conventions.
- Unlock analytics and reporting through our BI tools.
- Ensure scalability and performance when handling large data volumes.
- Contribute to data governance initiatives, ensuring compliance, privacy, and data quality.
- Work in an Agile environment, collaborating closely with engineers, analysts, scientists and business stakeholders.
You
- 7+ years in Analytics Engineering or similar roles (Data Analytics Engineer, BI Engineer, Data Modeler).
- Deep expertise in designing robust data models, including gold tables and semantic layers, to ensure consistent, trusted metrics across the organization.
- Strong hands-on experience with Snowflake and dbt for building scalable, optimized data pipelines.
- Proven ability to implement best practices, standards, and documentation for reliable data modeling.
- Skilled at managing large-scale datasets while maintaining high performance.
- Excellent communicator, experienced in collaborating with cross-functional Agile teams.
- Fluent in English (written and spoken).
Preferred
- Hands-on experience with GitHub for version control and collaboration.
- Experience with data visualization tools (preferably Looker: LookML, Explores, Dashboards) and data monitoring platforms such as Metaplane.
- Familiarity with Hex.
- Knowledge of data governance concepts and frameworks.
