The GoFundMe is looking for a Director, People Partners (HRBP), Product & Technology in the San Francisco Bay Area to support our 300+ product, engineering and design function in shaping a high-performance, values driven culture. As the People Partner supporting our Product and Technology team, you’ll play a vital role in enabling the people who deliver innovative experiences that transform individual and organizational fundraising for nonprofits, organizations, and communities.
This is a unique opportunity to shape and influence the evolution of people practices horizontally across the organization (performance, talent development, people analytics) while owning product and engineering business partnership vertically. Your ability to translate business needs into people strategies will directly influence organizational effectiveness, scalability, and long-term growth.
Where you will work
We are seeking candidates based in the San Francisco Bay Area who can come to the San Francisco office 2x times per week. Occasional travel to team offsites at one of our hubs in the US (San Francisco, Los Angeles, SanDiego) and Argentina.
What you will do
- Build trust and credibility with product and engineering leadership through functional business acumen, judgment, and proactive coaching that drives performance.
- Design and deliver talent strategies that anticipate the needs of a scaling tech organization, enabling growth while preserving agility, clarity, and engagement across distributed teams.
- Anticipate medium and long term organizational needs and work proactively with leaders on succession planning, development, retention and engagement strategies.
- Navigate employee relations challenges and sensitive people matters with sound judgment, balancing empathy, legal compliance and driving results.
- Collaborate with the people, talent, and workplace teams and cross functional partners to optimize operational excellence; serve as a connective node across the organization.
- Leverage data to surface insights, diagnose organizational health, and inform decision making.
You
- Experience: Bachelor’s degree and 7+ years of progressive people leadership experience (startup or enterprise scale).
- Functional fluency: At least 5+ years partnering with product, engineering or technical leaders (VP+). Experience supporting distributed or global tech teams is a plus.
- Employee relations acumen: Experience navigating and investigating employee relations matters, partnering with Legal and familiarity with U.S. employment laws.
- Communication skills: Exceptional communication, storytelling, and influencing skills.
- Strategy & operational excellence: You thrive at both the 10,000-foot vision and the detailed execution that makes it real.
- Creativity: A burning desire to think outside the box and reimagine how we work.
- Curiosity: About the company, your colleagues, the world beyond and finding ways to connect it all together to surface ideas for how to help GoFundMe achieve its mission.
- Integrity and sound judgment: You handle confidential information with discretion and approach challenges with transparency and fairness.

Base Compensation
The total annual salary for this full-time position in this location is $201,500 - $302,500 + bonus, equity & benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
