Join us! GoFundMe is hiring a Frontend Software Engineer Intern to help build our front end user experience for our platform. The ideal candidate is familiar with front end web development and capable in creating user experiences in React and JavaScript. We want to talk to you if you love transforming designs and mockups into user experiences for the web, are wanting to grow your AWS Cloud experience, and are interested in learning more about how modern development teams deliver SaaS applications.
This is a 10 week internship program that runs from May 27th, 2026 to August 7th, 2026. The program will be based in San Francisco, CA and interns will be expected onsite three days per week.
What you’ll do:
- Work alongside other full time Software Engineers of all experience levels on a production development team.
- Take part in the team’s agile development processes, completing user stories and other tasks that enter the team’s sprint.
- Contribute solutions to our frontend applications in React, JavaScript, and Typescript.
- Work in our Jest frontend unit testing framework
- Receive mentorship and coaching from some of the best technical minds in the industry.
What you bring (Required):
- Experience in a 4 year Computer Science degree program, Bootcamp, or relevant work experience elsewhere in our industry.
- Familiarity with JavaScript, TypesScript, and React
- Familiarity with Agile and Scrum methodologies
- Comfortable with working in a remote and distributed environment
- Ability to understand product requirements and translate them into technical solutions
- Familiarity with Git & Bitbucket.
What would be awesome to have (Preferred):
- Familiarity with Next.js
- Familiarity with PHP and Laravel
- Familiarity with different state management technologies
- Experience with Module Federation and Micro Frontends
- Experience with PCI compliance and eCommerce platforms

The hourly rate for this position is $35.00. As this is a hybrid position, the pay rate was determined by role, level, and possible location across the US. Individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
