The GoFundMe team is searching for our next Senior Frontend Engineer for our Tooling team.The Tooling team builds the intelligence layer that powers GoFundMe’s ability to move money safely and at scale. Our mission is to design seamless, integrated tools that unify data across internal and external sources; enabling smarter risk decisions, transaction monitoring, and compliance automation.We sit at the intersection of engineering, risk, and data, crafting systems that help GoFundMe protect users, reduce fraud, and ensure every transaction is trusted, transparent, and compliant.

This is a hybrid opportunity, candidates considered for this role will be located in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
The Job
- Build the tools that power GoFundMe’s risk intelligence. Design and implement scalable backend services, APIs, and dashboards that integrate data from payment processors, KYC/KYB systems, and internal transaction logs.
- Enable data-driven decisioning. Develop real-time pipelines and tooling for risk evaluation, transaction monitoring, and fraud detection; optimizing for both protection and conversion.
- Bridge risk, compliance, and engineering. Collaborate with Data Platform, Risk, and Product to build automation that enables proactive monitoring, alerting, and case management.
- Own end-to-end systems. From ingestion and normalization to visualization and workflow automation, you’ll drive the architecture for reliable, secure, and auditable risk tooling.
- Advance compliance at scale. Contribute to building frameworks that help GoFundMe remain compliant with global regulations while maintaining a seamless user experience.
- Champion engineering excellence. Participate in code reviews, improve standards, and mentor engineers across data tooling and backend systems.
- Stay close to impact. Participate in on-call rotations to ensure uptime, responsiveness, and reliability for mission-critical systems.
You
- 5+ senior years of professional experience developing, testing, and shipping complex, customer-facing web applications.
- Direct professional experience with React, Next.js, and TypeScript.
- PHP familiarity
- Proven ability to translate high-fidelity mockups and designs into beautiful, pixel-perfect, responsive, and accessible web applications using tools such as UI design systems and modern CSS techniques/frameworks.
- Solid experience with frontend testing methodologies and tools (e.g., Jest, Playwright) and code quality linters/formatters (e.g., ESLint).
- Strong understanding and practical experience with client-side performance analysis and optimization techniques.
- Proficiency with Git and collaborative development workflows (branching, code reviews, pull requests) in a team environment.
- Experience working effectively in an agile, intensely iterative software development process.
- Familiarity with application performance monitoring (APM) and log analytics tools to diagnose and address issues.
