Summary:
This role will work with clients to support engineering design and process improvement activities for different functional areas. Serve as an expert on design practices and provide training, coaching to engineers on best design practices for systems including CATIA, ENOVIA, and 3DExperience.
Responsibilities:
- Execute projects at the Tech center and support engineering engagements as required.
- Develop product designs, vehicle layouts and drawings primarily using CATIA V5 or V6 and other CAD tools as required.
- Offer design support to projects at Goken Tech Center as needed.
- Manage projects assigned by monitoring and tracking the progress of projects and handle any issues that arise.
- Report the progress and escalate any issues to management as needed.
- Maintain responsibility for meeting the project deadlines.
- Support development and delivery of training/coaching on CATIA V5, Enovia, 3DX.
- Support consulting engagements on design engineering and manufacturing practices development and process improvement.
- Identify inefficiencies and recommend best design practices, technical processes, and other solutions to meet requirements.
- If required, assist with development of best design practices and processes as needed.
- Develop solutions including but not limited to templates, UDFs, macros.
- Deploy and evaluate developed best practices and solutions.
- Analyze and resolve problems with moderate level of guidance and direction.
- Maintain quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards and following a course life cycle to ensure quality and consistency. Ensure on-time deliverables.
- Evolve technical skills by attending educational workshops; reviewing publications and exploring new practices and methodologies.
- Demonstrate strong presentation skills, strong verbal and written communication skills
- Maintain safe and healthy working environment by following organization standards and legal regulations.
- Perform other responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, Manufacturing, Aerospace, or Automotive Engineering and 2+ years relevant experience in the automotive field or in a similarly related area.
- Minimum 5 years practical design experience with CATIA V5 or V6. Also, practical experience with other CAD tools like Solidworks, UGNX is a plus.
- 2+ years working experience in various automotive & product engineering concepts, practices, and procedures. Desire experience working in multiple functional areas of the vehicle: Ex - Body, Interior, Chassis etc.
- Experience creating automation solutions in CATIA V5 using templates, macros and basic programming preferred
- Good understanding of DFM (Design for Manufacturability)
- Exposure to CAE tools preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Ability to plan, multi-task and manage time efficiently
- Ability to travel to client sites.
