Manager, Legal Admin & Operations

About the Role

Golden State is looking for a Manager to join our Legal team. In this role, you will provide general administrative support, broad-based legal operational oversight (including oversight of a contract/document management platform) and project management support. Our ideal candidate should be prepared to work in a fast-paced environment and must be able to collaborate with the entire legal team and internal and external stakeholders. Additionally, exceptional judgment, business acumen, discretion, communication skills, and strong relationship-building skills are a must. A high degree of initiative in anticipating and quickly resolving problems is essential. This position reports to the Chief Legal Officer.

This is a full-time position based onsite in San Francisco, CA.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative and operational support to the Chief Legal Officer  
  • Help onboard a document management system; manage contracts within the system and provide for on-going improvements and additional customization
  • Support and contribute to the development of process improvement with internal teams as needed
  • Communicate with outside counsel, other third-party vendors, and contractors; review, code and organize outside counsel bills
  • Work with Finance team on legal financial reporting and tracking
  • Work closely with business partners to gather information and documents on various products to support litigation and other legal matters
  • Coordinate with other internal teams to comply with internal and external requirements related to insurance coverage and risk
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Experience & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience    
  • 5+ years of legal administrative and project management administrative experience in a law firm or in-house
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and contract management platforms (e.g., Adobe, DocuSign, etc.)
  • Understanding of court filing systems and research platforms (e.g., Westlaw/Lexis)
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, verbal, and written communication skills, as well as attention to detail
  • High sense of integrity with the ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, multi-task in a fast-paced environment, adjust to rapidly changing priorities, and drive strategic projects to successful delivery

Compensation

  • $116,000 - 123,000 + Bonus
