Assistant Athletic Trainer/Team Performance Coordinator (GSV)
About the Position
The Golden State Valkyries are looking for an Assistant Athletic Trainer/Team Performance Coordinator who will work closely with the Head Athletic Trainer and entire sports medicine team to provide comprehensive healthcare services to professional athletes. To be successful in this role, you will have extensive understanding of sports medicine principles, excellent clinical skills, incorporate responsibilities related to team performance coordination and supporting the overall performance optimization of all athletes.

This is a full-time position located in Oakland, CA with frequent travel to San Francisco.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate medical appointments and referrals to specialists and administer first aid and emergency care as needed
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records in multiple platforms (i.e., EMR, SB) and update league memos and records
- Assist the Head Athletic Trainers and Team Physicians in implementing rehabilitation programs and injury prevention strategies
- Collaborate with team on implementation of performance monitoring systems and processes to ensure smooth adoption and consistent understanding
- Manage all orders, inventory, budgets and coordinate shipment of all medical supplies, medication and equipment, including additional luggage requirements for team travel
- Ensure all equipment including, boots, hydrotherapy baths, saunas, etc are maintained and ready for use and all players utilize Catapult equipment during practice
- Partner with basketball operations team on nutrition logistics and catering services during practice sessions and home games
- Set up and break down performance related equipment and environments (i.e., testing or data collection) and assist in preparing home games
- Complete administrative tasks including scheduling, communications, performance evaluations
- Stay up to date with latest advancements in sports medicine and athletic training and adhere to all WNBA, team and department policies and procedures
- Support Performance Director and the team with additional duties as needed
Required Experience & Skills
- Bachelor's Degree in Athletic Training or a related field; Master’s Degree highly preferred
- Board of Certification (BOC) certification as a Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC)
- Current state licensure or eligibility for licensure in California
- Current CPR/AED certification
- 3+ of experience working as an athletic trainer (experience in professional basketball or with elite athletes highly preferred)
- Proficiency in performance management software and data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, sports-specific analytics platforms)
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and identify trends related to athlete performance and injury
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with different levels of management, coaches, athletes, and medical professionals
- Strong organizational and time management skills and work in a fast-paced environment
Time Commitment
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and travel with the team
Compensation
- $75,000 - $85,000 + Bonus
