PR Game Night Assistant (Part-Time)

About the Position

Golden State Valkyries are looking for hardworking individuals with an interest in the communications field to serve as Game Night Assistants. In this role, you will gain hands-on experience and collaborate with professionals in the sports industry.

This is a part-time position based onsite in San Francisco.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with pre and post-game press conferences, media availabilities, and facilitate media requests as assigned by Golden State Valkyries Communications team
• Handle media seating and photo lane charts, and distribute media credentials and photo bibs at media check-in
• Record and transcribe key quotes during pre-game and post-game media availabilities
• Print and distribute stat sheets to media and broadcast teams, and team benches
• Post timing sheets on locker room doors and coaches’ offices
• Help write and edit postgame notes during each game
• Support Valkyries Media and Public Relations at home games to ensure seamless media coverage
• Other duties as assigned

Required Skills and Experience

• Currently enrolled senior or junior undergraduate or recent graduate with a major in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Sports Management, or a related field
• Outstanding written and oral communication skills and an outgoing personality
• Ability to perform tasks proactively in a dynamic work environment
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with WNBA and Golden State Valkyries
• Available to work nights, weekends, and holidays for the entirety of the pre and post WNBA season

Compensation

• $18.67 per hour
