About the Position

We are looking for a Director to lead the day-to-day operations and event logistics at Chase Center, Thrive City and offsite locations, including Golden State Warriors & Valkyries games and brand events, large- and small-scale private and community events, concerts and family shows. In this position, you will lead all front and back of house activities while supporting the logistical and functional needs of the Events department, Golden State Warriors & Valkyries, promoters, internal departments, production companies, and service providers, among others. This position will report to the Senior Director, Events.

This is a full-time position based in San Francisco, CA.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the operational functions and personnel for events at Chase Center and Thrive City in addition to offsite hospitality and community events
  • Serve as the primary contact for assigned events while assisting in the development and execution of events
  • Direct and oversee the workflow and processes for the Events team; develop creative briefs, project timelines, and schedules
  • Develop and communicate facility rules, regulations, policies, and procedures with internal and external clients
  • Work with Content & Programming and Private Event Sales teams to maximize revenue on all shows and private events booked throughout the venue
  • Develop Standard Operating Procedures, checklists, and training manuals for areas of oversight and institute a culture of process and accountability
  • Partner with Content & Programming, Box Office, and promoters to develop on-sale CAD drawings
  • Lead site visits and prepare event proposals, estimates and budgets, floor plans, and other event details
  • Collaborate with Corporate Partnerships, Sales, Marketing, and other departments to ensure partner event needs and met
  • Lead regular Event Production meetings to discuss upcoming events with internal departments and ensure preparations and plans for execution are aligned across all departments
  • Facilitate the collection of all post-event notes; celebrate successes and identify areas of improvement
  • Ensure all required permits are secured for events (as required by local law/ordinance); maintain close working relationship with the San Francisco Fire, Buildings, and Health Departments
  • Collaborate with our union partners, as needed, for all games, concerts, live entertainment, commercial and video shoots, and corporate events
  • Aid in the development of Events budget and forecast; monitor and approve all department expenditures and make adjustments as necessary
  • Work with internal departments and external agencies and ensure life safety plans are adhered to and that safety policies and procedures are followed at all times
  • Provide support and develop ongoing training programs and activities for Event Managers and Coordinators to ensure growth and development
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Experience & Skills

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • 5-7 years planning and delivering large and high-profile events, preferably in the hospitality industry with a focus on large corporate events
  • 1-2 years of people management experience; ability to coach, mentor, and motivate a diverse workforce; experience with unions desirable
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with AutoCAD preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, customer service, attention to detail and resolution skills
  • Ability to build positive relationships with clients and peers at all levels within the organization
  • Ability to be creative and seek proactive solutions to problems and situations before and/or after they arise with little or no supervision
  • Ability to prioritize and balance multiple projects within budget in a fast-paced work environment

Time Commitment

  • Ability to work flexible and sometimes demanding schedules, including nights, weekend and holidays

Compensation

  • $131,000 - 139,000 + Bonus
