Manager, Marketing (GSV)

About the Position

The Golden State Valkyries are looking for a Manager to oversee all aspects of marketing, related to Game Experience, Corporate Partnerships, Ticket Sales & Service, and more. In this role, you will partner closely with the broader Marketing team and cross-functionally to lead the development and execution of strategic marketing plans. This position reports to the Senior Manager, Marketing.

This is a full-time position based onsite in Oakland, CA with time spent in San Francisco for game days.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with Senior Manager on development and execution of strategic campaign plans from inception to execution for Golden State Valkyries brand initiatives as well as department initiatives to increase fan satisfaction, community engagement, and revenue
• Partner with internal Marketing teams (Studio, Social, Game Experience, Growth & Retention, Product) on upcoming efforts for alignment, content creation, media planning/implementation and continued promotional support through owned or paid media 
• Build positive relationships with internal partners to ensure needs are met and create the appropriate marketing strategy, media, deliverables and activations to achieve their goals
• Serve as liaison with GSV agency to drive development and execution of season-long campaigns
• Lead the socialization and adoption of GSV brand guidelines, creative review and ongoing refreshes as needed
• Lead cross-functional meetings to align on roadmap for marketing initiatives for WNBA Golden State campaigns
• Lead overall project timelines related to requested campaigns/tasks 
• Help manage procurement of promotional goods, signage, installations and other creative orders to meet campaign or event program objectives 
• Consult on Valkyries grassroots/street team strategy 
• Lead and develop a team as the franchise continues to grow 
• Other duties as assigned

Required Experience & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Marketing/Advertising/Business Administration, or equivalent work experience
• 4+ years of marketing experience, preferably within sports/entertainment marketing or account management
• Proficiency in project management tools, preferably Wrike
• Excellent written and verbal communication, customer service, attention to detail and resolution skills
• Ability to build positive relationships with clients and peers at all levels within the organization
• Ability to prioritize and balance multiple projects and media scheduling in a fast-paced work environment
• Experience doing project management for game experiences

Time Commitment

• Ability to maintain a flexible schedule as evenings and weekend work shifts may be required

Compensation

• $87,000 - 92,000 + Bonus
