Job Summary:

GOLF is seeking a strategic and creative Head of Social Media to lead our digital presence across all social platforms. This role will be responsible for shaping our social media strategy, driving audience growth, increasing engagement, and amplifying our brand’s voice.

The ideal candidate is a behind-the-scenes presence who is up to date on social media trends, thinks outside the box, possesses audience development tactics, and understands best practices for all platforms.

 

 Job Specific Responsibilities and Duties:

 Strategy & Execution

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive social media strategy that aligns with brand goals and audience engagement objectives.
  • Oversee content planning, publishing, and community management across platforms (Instagram, Twitter/X, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, LinkedIn, etc.).
  • Optimize posting schedules, content formats, and platform-specific strategies to maximize reach and engagement.
  • Monitor social media trends, platform updates, and industry shifts to keep our brand ahead of the curve.

Content Creation

  • Collaborate with internal talent, designers, and video producers to develop high-quality, engaging social content (graphics, videos, stories)
  • Identify and capitalize on trending topics, viral moments, and key golf events to enhance brand visibility.
  • Oversee the production of unique and innovative golf-related content, including behind-the-scenes footage, player interviews, and user-generated content.

Growth

  • Cultivate and engage an active online community of golf fans, influencers, and industry professionals.
  • Implement strategies to increase followers, engagement, and brand affinity across all platforms.
  • Expand GOLF's social network through its existing and developing shows.

Analytics

  • Utilize data and insights to measure social media performance, track KPIs, and adjust strategies accordingly.
  • Conduct regular reporting on engagement, growth, and campaign success to key stakeholders.
  • A/B test content, formats, and posting times to optimize performance.

Partnerships

  • Identify and collaborate with golf influencers, athletes, and media partners to expand brand reach.
  • Manage brand partnerships, sponsorship activations, and co-branded social campaigns.
  • Coordinate with advertisers and sponsors to develop compelling sponsored content opportunities.

Live Event Coverage

  • Lead real-time social media coverage for major golf events, tournaments, and industry happenings.
  • Ensure timely and engaging updates, highlights, and behind-the-scenes moments for audiences.

 

Qualifications & Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in social media management, preferably within sports, media, or entertainment.
  • Deep knowledge of the golf industry, professional Tours, key players, and fan culture.
  • Proven record of accomplishment of growing social media accounts and executing high-impact campaigns.
  • Expertise in social media analytics tools.
  • Strong creative skills with experience in video editing, graphic design, and short-form content production (Adobe Suite, Canva, CapCut, etc.).
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Exceptional writing, communication, and storytelling skills tailored for social audiences.
  • Experience managing teams, freelancers, or agency relationships is a plus.
  • Willingness to work nights/weekends as needed
