Director, Product Marketing

Gong is seeking an experienced and strategic Director of Product Marketing to lead the strategic positioning, messaging, and go-to-market execution of our product portfolio, consisting of three flagship applications. This role will be instrumental in driving product adoption, market share growth, and customer success in our key markets.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field. MBA or advanced degree preferred
- Portfolio Strategy: Develop and execute a comprehensive product marketing strategy for the company’s product portfolio, aligning with business objectives and revenue targets
- Deep Customer Knowledge: Use market research, product analytics, customer interviews, and other resources to become experts on our buyers’ needs, goals, motivations, and technology requirements.
- Market Research & Competitive Analysis: Conduct ongoing market research to identify trends, opportunities, and competitive threats. Use insights to inform product positioning, marketing strategies, and product development.
- Audience-Centric Marketing: Develop and execute marketing strategies tailored to specific personas, industries, market segments, and existing customers. Ensure messaging aligns with the needs and pain points of each audience to drive engagement and conversion.
- Go-to-Market Strategy (GTM): Lead the development and execution of GTM strategies for new product launches, feature releases, and market expansion through up-sell and cross-sell strategies. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful market entry and ongoing adoption.
- Content and Sales Tool Development: Oversee the creation of high-impact content that supports marketing efforts, including demos, white papers, assessment tools, webinars, blogs, videos, infographics, and more. Ensure content is aligned with the needs of target audiences and reflects the brand voice.
- Sales Enablement: Partner with sales teams to develop effective tools, training, and content that empower them to communicate the value of our solutions to prospects and customers. Create and deliver presentations, sales collateral, and case studies that showcase customer success and ROI.
- Product Strategy Influence: champion our customers’ needs to inform product strategy and roadmap to better service our target audience. Work with the Product team to validate new product hypotheses and create GTM motions that can scale.
- Demand Generation and Customer Expansion Support: Develop and execute strategies to market to existing customers, driving upsell, cross-sell, and renewal opportunities. Collaborate with Growth Marketing and Partner Marketing teams to drive product adoption, upsell, and expansion of new and existing features.
- Analytics and Reporting: Track and report on key product marketing KPIs, ensuring strategies are data-driven and results-oriented.
- Team Leadership: Build, mentor, and manage a team of product marketers, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field. MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in B2B marketing, with at least 5 years in a product marketing role within an enterprise software company.
- Experience in a high-growth technology environment.
- Strong understanding of enterprise software markets, including key industries, personas, and competitive landscape.
- Experience in GTM strategy, sales enablement, and product positioning across a portfolio of products.
- Proven track record of leading high performing teams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, compelling narratives.
- Ability to conduct market research and competitive analysis to inform marketing strategies.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
- Preference to SF Bay Area or NYC, but open to other locations.

The annual salary hiring range for this position is $153,000 - $227,000 USD.
Compensation is based on factors unique to each candidate, including, but not limited to, job-related skills, qualification, education, experience, and location. At Gong, we have a location-based compensation structure, which means there may be a different range for candidates in other locations. The total compensation package for this position, in addition to base compensation, may include incentive compensation, bonus, equity, and benefits. Some of our sales compensation programs also offer the potential to achieve above targeted earnings for those who exceed their sales targets.
