Vice President, Product Marketing

Gong harnesses the power of AI to transform how revenue teams win. The Gong Revenue AI Operating System unifies data, insights, and workflows into a single, trusted system that observes, guides, and acts alongside the world’s most successful revenue teams. Powered by the Gong Revenue Graph, AI-powered intelligence, specialized agents, and trusted applications, Gong helps more than 5,000 companies around the world deeply understand their teams and customers, automate critical sales workflows, and close more deals with less effort. For more information, visit www.gong.io.

At Gong, you will join a company built on innovative products, ambitious goals, and passionate people. We are shaping the future of revenue intelligence and we want people who are excited to build what comes next. You will work with a team that dreams big, moves fast, and cares deeply about the craft and about each other. Here, transparency and trust are core to how we operate, and every person has the opportunity to make a visible impact. If you want to grow, stretch, and do work that truly matters, Gong is the place to do the best work of your career.

As Vice President of Product Marketing, you’ll lead the global Product Marketing function and shape the story, strategy, and go-to-market (GTM) execution that define Gong’s leadership in Revenue AI. In a market where nearly every product now claims to be “AI-powered,” your job is to establish what makes Gong defensibly different — grounded in a deep understanding of our products and technology, and mapped tightly to the value our customers care about. You’ll partner closely with Product and the broader GTM organization to drive clarity, excitement, and growth around Gong’s platform and solutions.

Reporting directly to the Chief Marketing Officer, this role is both strategic and hands-on, setting the vision for how Gong shows up in the market, while providing operational clarity to our teams and guiding them to win. It is a rare opportunity to lead at a company defining a new category and rewriting the rules of go-to-market success. You’ll have the platform, people, and purpose to make an impact — on our market, our customers, and our brand.

You MUST be located in one of our hub locations (San Francisco, Salt Lake City, Austin, New York City Metro, Chicago) due to our hybrid work model.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Deep Product & Customer Understanding

  • Develop deep product and technical fluency. Build a hands-on, first-principles understanding of Gong’s products, AI, ecosystem, and underlying technology so you can tease out the true, defensible differentiation that generic “AI wrappers” can’t replicate. Partner with Product leadership to align roadmaps with customer needs and market trends, and ensure GTM plans are grounded in real product depth.
  • Champion the customer POV and value. Immerse yourself in the customer’s world, including pain points, buying journey, and decision criteria, and translate Gong’s product value proposition into quantifiable customer value and business outcomes. Use the customer’s own language, drawn from win-loss analysis, customer interviews, and sales conversations in Gong, as the raw material for positioning and messaging.

Positioning & Differentiation

  • Own Gong’s strategic narrative and positioning. Craft clear, differentiated messaging and positioning across the platform, products, and competitive landscape, and codify it in a messaging architecture and assets that the GTM and Marketing teams can carry across every marketing channel.
  • Establish true differentiation in a crowded AI market. In a category still being defined, where “AI-powered” is now table stakes, define what makes Gong distinct and hard to copy. Lead with customer outcomes over technology, ground claims in measurable proof and accuracy, and sharpen positioning against both horizontal foundation-model providers and point solutions, anticipating how the competitive set will keep shifting.

GTM Execution Support

  • Lead product launches that drive growth. Own launch narrative, enablement, and execution across every customer touchpoint so new products and capabilities land with the GTM team and drive customer engagement, adoption, and growth.
  • Leverage AI to scale knowledge sharing. Use AI tools to scale context and content to GTM teams so reps can generate tailored, on-brand content in real time — by persona, segment, industry, and deal stage. Deliver the messaging, playbooks, demos, and more that improve close rates, win rates, and deal velocity, and close the “last-mile” gap between what marketing produces and what reps actually use.

Solution Marketing

  • Tailor the value proposition by industry and persona. Develop differentiated value propositions, messaging, use cases, and proof points for Gong's priority industries and buyer personas, translating each segment's specific business challenges into measurable, role-relevant outcomes.
  • Carry the solution story across the full customer journey. Ensure the tailored value proposition shows up consistently at every stage — fueling demand generation and campaigns to build awareness and pipeline, guiding buyers through evaluation, and equipping the field with the plays, business cases, and proof points needed to advance and close deals.

Pricing, Packaging & Monetization

  • Evolve pricing and packaging cross-functionally. Partner with Product, GTM, and Finance to evolve Gong’s pricing and packaging into a model that blends seat-based and consumption-based pricing, so customers can scale AI in the way that best fits their organization while Gong captures the value it creates and maximizes revenue.
  • Align price to value and fuel adoption. Design the tiers, packaging, and credit models that make it easy for customers to adopt and expand their use of Gong’s AI, tie what customers pay to the outcomes and work Gong performs on their behalf, and equip the field to sell, forecast, and expand accounts against the new model.

Brand, Communications & Thought Leadership

  • Shape Gong’s external narrative. Partner with Corporate Marketing to influence Gong’s media coverage, analyst reports, and industry rankings.
  • Serve as a senior external ambassador for Gong. Regularly engage with industry analysts, press, influencers, partners, and customers to build trusted relationships, shape market perception, and represent Gong’s strategy, products, and point of view with credibility and consistency.
  • Develop thought leadership and demand-gen content. Work with the Content team to deliver high-impact materials that engage buyers from awareness through decision, plus speaking opportunities that reinforce Gong’s position as the leader in Revenue AI.

Cross-Functional Leadership & Partnerships

  • Build deep cross-functional partnerships. Operate as connective tissue across the company, forging especially deep and durable partnerships with the GTM organization and with Product, aligning strategy, roadmap, and field execution around a shared story and shared outcomes.
  • Empower channel and partner success. Partner with the Partnerships team to spotlight new integrations, MCP support, and marketplace and co-sell partnerships, turning a fast-growing ecosystem into a proof point for Gong's platform leadership.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • 15+ years of Product Marketing experience in B2B enterprise software (SaaS preferred), with a proven record of creating differentiated positioning and driving measurable business impact.
  • Experience positioning AI or other technically sophisticated products in a fast-moving, still-forming category, where differentiation must be earned through outcomes, proof, and depth rather than claimed.
  • Deep technical curiosity and fluency: able to get hands-on with the product and technology, understand how the AI actually works, and translate that into defensible differentiation and clear customer value.
  • High fluency with AI tools across the PMM workflow (research, insight synthesis, messaging, competitive intelligence, enablement, and content), and a strong point of view on using them to scale context and tailored, real-time content to GTM teams without sacrificing quality or strategic judgment.
  • Experience leading large, high-performing PMM teams in scaling organizations, ideally at $500M+ ARR.
  • Strong strategic thinking paired with executional excellence: you can shape a vision and roll up your sleeves to make it happen.
  • Proven ability to partner cross-functionally with GTM, Product, and Marketing leaders, building deep and durable relationships that align strategies and outcomes.
  • A customer-first mindset and passion for creating market-defining stories that inspire and sell.
  • Bring urgency, extreme ownership, and a bias for action, staying hands-on to do whatever it takes to drive impact.
  • Creative, resourceful, and energized by a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
