About Goodhouse
Goodhouse is a growing, full-service outdoor and property services company with a diverse portfolio spanning landscape, hardscape, pool construction and maintenance, general construction, dumpster rental, and more. We take pride in delivering quality work across every service line — and we run our business the same way. We're looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team and help keep our financials as sharp as our work.
Position Summary
Reporting to the Accounting Manager, the Staff Accountant will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records across multiple entities. This role is a great fit for someone with a solid accounting foundation who is comfortable working in a multi-entity environment and ready to grow with a fast-moving company.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
General Accounting & Reporting
- Provide timely and accurate accounting support across multiple entities.
- Contribute to financial statement compilations and support internal and external reporting requirements.
- Prepare financial, accounting, and administrative reports and analyses as needed.
General Ledger & Reconciliation
- Perform routine and complex account reconciliations (P&L and Balance Sheet), including bank accounts, debt agreements, and revenue/expense items.
- Maintain accuracy across multiple ERPs and operating modules to ensure consistent financial reporting.
Month-End Close
- Execute assigned month-end close procedures accurately and on schedule.
- Provide required documentation to support annual financial statement reviews and audits.
Fixed Assets
- Assist in managing fixed asset accounting across entities
Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable (Preferred)
- Process vendor payments and support AP/AR workflows with proper documentation.
- Support accurate and timely AR collections and AP disbursements across entities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Experience working across multiple entities or in a multi-company environment is expected.
- Familiarity with month-end close processes and account reconciliation.
- AR/AP experience is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- High attention to detail and strong analytical mindset.
- Proficiency in financial reporting software and ERP systems.
