Associate Corporate Counsel

ABOUT GOODR

We create and sell $25 active sunglasses for anyone. No slip, no bounce, all polarized, all fun. Interested in joining our team? Keep reading.

OUR VALUES: We have two core values: Fun & Authenticity.

  • FUN = Being sh*tty isn’t fun. Agreed? Taking pride in your work, finding joy in being GREAT, and celebrating wins… and losses. Now, that’s fun!
  • AUTHENTICITY = Focusing on being authentic over being liked. (Next-level guru stuff. Count it.)

Fun Fact: We do not allow email to be sent internally. Carrier pigeons only. JK, we use Slack.

AUTONOMY: We practice autonomy, empowerment, and accountability so that every team member can be in control of their own life.

  • HYBRID WORKING: Most roles are only required to be in office every Tuesday and Thursday with the occasional third day thrown in.

PURPOSE: We want to leave the world better than we found it in ways that are unique to an individual’s personal journey. But, what does that even mean??? It means:

  • PURPOSE PROJECTS: Team members have the opportunity to create their own project for making the world a better place.

Fun Fact: One purpose project resulted in a team member raising over 1 million dollars to build a track for a Los Angeles school!

ABOUT THE ROLE

Your day may start with someone from the content team asking you if we can dress up a dog like Pac Man for a photo shoot. (The answer is “no”, but you’ll recommend something clever as an alternative and everyone will high five like in one of those stock photo images. Teamwork!)  You’ll then move on to a meeting with the sales team to discuss your comments on the vendor agreement with a new nation-wide retailer.  You’ll attend a lunch meeting where someone will give a presentation on their favorite sourdough recipes.  The afternoon will consist of a few negotiations with sports leagues about licensing their IP for inclusion in the 2025 sunglasses launch.

Ok. Maybe all that won’t happen in one day, but you get an idea for the variety of ground you’ll cover on a day-to-day basis. Put another way, you will not get bored here doing the same thing over and over again. You will be asked to do just about everything within all parts of the goodr organization.

That said, for juxtaposition, here are a few things that will not be part of your role:

  • A sisyphean treadmill of billable hour requirements
  • Getting calls at 3pm on a Sunday asking if you wouldn’t mind coming into the office to finish off that memo so we can file it at 7am on Monday
  • Constant references to the Bluebook
  • Visits from Westlaw reps
  • Being hired at what appears to be a very well respected boutique law firm only to find out that you are now counsel for the mob
  • Clients

As a government contractor subject to the Vietnam Era Veterans Readjustment Assistance Act (VEVRAA), we request this information in order to measure the effectiveness of the outreach and positive recruitment efforts we undertake pursuant to VEVRAA. Classification of protected categories is as follows:

Voluntary Self-Identification of Disability

Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
