Product Development Intern

Los Angeles

ABOUT GOODR

We create and sell active eyewear for anyone. No Slip. No Bounce. All Polarized. All Fun. Interested in joining our team? Keep reading.

OUR VALUES: We have two core values: Fun & Authenticity.

  • FUN = Being sh*tty isn’t fun. Agreed? Taking pride in your work, finding joy in being GREAT, and celebrating wins… and losses. Now, that’s fun!
  • AUTHENTICITY = Focusing on being authentic over being liked. (Next-level guru stuff. Count it.)

Fun Fact: We do not allow email to be sent internally. Carrier pigeons only. JK, we use Slack.

SUSTAINABILITY: We think Earth’s pretty rad. That’s why we take action wherever possible to limit our impact on the planet.

  • 1% FOR THE PLANET MEMBER: 1% of goodr’s annual sales go directly to environmental organizations.
  • CARBON NEUTRAL: In 2019, goodr became a 100% carbon neutral company.

Fun Fact: goodr celebrates every Earth Day by releasing limited-edition sunglasses with frames made from 100% recycled materials—and the packaging is 100% sustainable, too!

ABOUT THE ROLE

Ever wonder how a pair of sunglasses gets made… or how a wild idea like pink furry frames becomes actual reality? Maybe you’re curious how in the world a company lets a flamingo named Carl run the place. Well, look no further! goodr is calling all flaminglets — yes, that’s a baby flamingo — for our 2027 Spring Internship Program!

At goodr, we show up unabashedly ourselves, own our sh**t, and get things done. And we want our interns to do the same. Join us for a 9-week adventure from January 19th, 2027 – March 19th, 2027. Did someone say bragging rights? OH YES WE DID. This full-time, paid internship gives you real-world experience, flamingo-level fun, and skills you can take into any future career.

The Product Development team is looking for a self-motivated, organized, and creative product enthusiast to help bring goodr's wild product dreams to life. You'll dive headfirst into hands-on product development, keep our sample wall and Cove libraries in tip-top shape, and communicate directly with global manufacturers to keep the fun rolling. If you have an eye for detail, love solving weird and wonderful product challenges, and can navigate tech packs like a pro while bringing serious flamingo-level enthusiasm, this is the role for you!

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Gain hands-on experience in Product Development while learning how a fast-paced sports eyewear company operates day-to-day
  • Help turn creative, ridiculous, and sometimes completely out-there ideas into reality.
  • Manage our material and sample libraries and sunglasses sample wall in the office (aka the Cove) to keep everything organized and easy to find.
  • Assist with creating tech packs and communicating product requirements to manufacturers to ensure our products meet expectations and stay on budget.
  • Collaborate with teams like Design, Quality, and Customer Service to bring ideas to life and ensure our products meet our standards.
  • Communicate with manufacturers to support the product development process and keep projects moving forward.
  • Support the team in bringing the Design team's vision to life. Whether it's putting grass on frames, blocking blue light, or developing scratch-and-sniff lenses, you’ll help explore what's possible.
  • Help coordinate incoming development samples, golden sample approvals, content shoot samples, sales samples, and materials for our sample library.
  • Help ensure every pair of sunnies delivers on goodr's 4 F's: Fun, Functional, Fashionable, and 'Ffordable.
  • This role is in the Product Development team and will report directly to the VP of Product Development
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

INTERNSHIP REQUIREMENTS

  • Committed to the full 9-week internship: January 19th, 2027 - March 19th, 2027
  • Open to part-time (up to 30 hours/week) or full-time (40 hours/week) opportunities, depending on your schedule
  • Available to work fully onsite at our Inglewood, CA office during regular business hours (9am - 5pm). This is a strictly onsite role for both part-time and full-time schedules
  • Required to be in the office on Tuesdays (minimum half-day), regardless of total weekly hours or part-time flexibility
  • Must reside in Los Angeles or the surrounding area for the duration of the internship
  • No college degree or prior experience needed—just a passion for learning and jumping into the flamingo-filled chaos of goodr

ABOUT THE IDEAL INTERN

  • Strong passion for product development and a desire to learn how great products go from concept to reality, from initial ideas to final production.
  • You’re excited to take on new projects and work outside their comfort zone
  • A wiz with Adobe programs, specifically Illustrator.
  • Proficiency on a Mac and GSuite (especially spreadsheets!)
  • A rockstar communicator and problem solver (you don’t shy away from a challenge)
  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills
  • Must thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic company environment
  • Ability to work autonomously and/or in teams
  • Strong communicator who lives into collaboration
