Senior Search Channel Manager
Who We Are
The Channel Manager – Search is responsible for delivering high-quality paid search activation across assigned clients. This role owns day-to-day execution, optimization, and performance management across Google Ads and Microsoft/Bing Ads, ensuring campaigns align to approved media plans, enterprise search standards, and evolving channel best practices.
Channel Managers operate as hands-on execution leaders and trusted client partners, translating strategy into precise in-platform activation. They work under the guidance of the Channel Director – Search, contribute to channel innovation and testing, and support the development of Channel Coordinators through coaching and oversight.
What You’ll Do
Search Execution & Performance Ownership
- Execute and optimize paid search campaigns across Google Ads and Microsoft/Bing Ads in alignment with approved media plans and channel strategy
- Own in-platform setup, including account structure, bidding strategies, automation, audiences, and measurement alignment
- Monitor performance against efficiency and effectiveness goals, adjusting investment and tactics based on data and direction
- Ensure search activation adheres to enterprise standards, platform policies, and brand safety requirements
- Support adoption of new search features, betas, and automation workflows as directed by channel leadership
- Lead complex and HVC search campaigns, acting as a the search extension for client teams
Client & Strategy Partnership
- Partner with Client Strategy to ensure search activation mirrors agreed-upon plans and objectives
- Translate performance data into clear insights, implications, and optimization recommendations
- Participate in client conversations as an execution authority, supporting performance reviews and planning discussions
- Surface risks, opportunities, and platform changes proactively
- Lead client paid search conversations, serving as the primary subject matter expert and strategic authority on social platforms, activation, and performance
Channel Collaboration & Capability Building
- Support Channel Coordinators through task guidance, QA, and skill development
- Responsible for mentoring and supporting assigned channel managers and coordinators in their channel growth
- Contribute to documentation, testing efforts, and evolving activation standards within the search discipline
- Collaborate with Analytics to ensure measurement frameworks support optimization and learning
- Escalate complex issues, audits, or platform challenges appropriately
- Champion knowledge sharing across the paid search team, proactively distributing platform updates, best practices, test learnings, and performance insights to drive collective expertise and consistency
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, advertising, business administration, or a related field is preferred
- 5+ years of experience in paid search or performance media activation
- Proficiency across search platforms including Google Ads and Microsoft/Bing Ads, with hands-on experience in campaign setup, optimization, and automation
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to optimization and performance management
- Proven ability to translate media strategy into precise in-platform execution
- Experience managing client relationships in a client-facing role, including presenting performance insights and recommendations
- Demonstrated ability to mentor or support junior team members through guidance, QA, and feedback
