Principal AI Engineer – Remote (US)

Remote (US)

Write the Next Great Story in AI + Aviation

Some companies chase the future. At Goodwin, we’re building it from scratch, at breakneck speed, in one of the most dynamic, unclaimed frontiers: charter aviation.
We don’t just want another engineer; we want a co-author of our story—someone who’ll look back and say, I helped reinvent how an industry works.

What’s in it for you?

  • Autonomy: You won’t just “build features”—you’ll shape vision, architecture, and product from day one.
  • Legacy: See your work in the real world, changing how people move and connect.
  • Story: Join a chapter that hasn’t been written. Become known for building something that lasts.
  • Speed: No red tape. Ideas move from sketch to production in weeks, not quarters.

The Role:

As our Principal AI Engineer, you’ll own, build, and launch next-generation agentic AI products. You’ll lead the charge in designing, fine-tuning, and deploying advanced LLMs (OpenAI, Anthropic, open-source), create groundbreaking search and recommendation engines, and architect robust AI infrastructure, making complex problems simple, intuitive, and transformative.

You’ll Own:

  • End-to-end delivery of AI products: dream it, build it, launch it, scale it.
  • Building, fine-tuning, and customizing LLMs for real-time conversational AI, deep search, and world-class recommendations.
  • Creating scalable infrastructure—vector databases, embeddings, RAG pipelines—so every answer is smarter than the last.
  • Delivering tangible, visible impact in an industry hungry for change.

You, at Your Best:

  • You’ve shipped high-impact AI products—hands-on, not just in theory.
  • You’ve fine-tuned, deployed, and optimized LLMs (GPT, Claude, or open-source) in production.
  • You’re fluent in modern AI stacks: semantic search, vector DBs, advanced cloud, MLOps, Python, and more.
  • You anticipate trends, invent new approaches, and bring relentless curiosity and grit.
  • You want to help write the playbook—not just follow one.

Bonus Points:

  • Startup DNA or time at a world-class engineering org.
  • Real-time, large-scale recommendation or analytics experience.

Race & Ethnicity Definitions

If you believe you belong to any of the categories of protected veterans listed below, please indicate by making the appropriate selection. As a government contractor subject to the Vietnam Era Veterans Readjustment Assistance Act (VEVRAA), we request this information in order to measure the effectiveness of the outreach and positive recruitment efforts we undertake pursuant to VEVRAA. Classification of protected categories is as follows:

A "disabled veteran" is one of the following: a veteran of the U.S. military, ground, naval or air service who is entitled to compensation (or who but for the receipt of military retired pay would be entitled to compensation) under laws administered by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs; or a person who was discharged or released from active duty because of a service-connected disability.

Voluntary Self-Identification of Disability

Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
