The Vendor Management Consultant is responsible for management of the Gore external vendor network which includes over 500 vendors who provide services to the Claims department and Gore’s insureds. The Vendor Management team is accountable for the management of a vendor spend of over $60M and the vendors’ performance including customer service, and cost standards of the company. 
 

What you will do:

  • Develop and maintain strategic partnerships with vendors, including external IMEs, Lawyers, and other 3rd party vendors. 
  • Responsible for the relationship management of vendors for the Preferred Partner Network for Accident Benefits, Casualty & Legal 
  • Accountable for the overall performance of vendor partners. 
  • Monitor and enforce vendor compliance with contractual and service level agreements (including third party privacy, compliance and reputational risks).
  • Manage and resolve any issues or customer/broker/internal escalations related to the vendors and their services. 
  • Collaborate with the Claims leadership, adjusters, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment of the vendor program with the business objectives and customer needs. 
  • Collaborate with procurement on RFP and contract renewals.
  • Negotiate with external vendors on contract renewal and compliance, while being mindful of cost containment and savings to impact bottom line revenue. 
  • Support the transition and integration of Unica vendors to Gore, where required
  • Collaborate with Project Managers to ensure project timelines are met and work is completed in a timely manner
  • Train and educate vendors and internal staff on where required 
  • Research and implement new technologies and tools to program and vendor capabilities 
  • Oversee vendor performance & identify improvement opportunities 
  • Analyze and report on the vendors' performance metrics 
  • Drive vendor service excellence. 
  • Identify and implement opportunities for process improvement, cost reduction, and innovation 
  • Prepare and present reports and recommendations to senior management and business partners. 
  • Regular vendor office visits and face to face meetings with vendor partners where required 
  • Monitor and manage regular audits and review of external vendor operations 
  • Conduct regular audits and reviews of the vendors' operations, processes, and systems to ensure compliance, quality, accuracy, and timeliness of the appraisals. 
  • Develop and enforce Vendor Action Plans based on audit findings. 
  • Identify third party risks including privacy and regulatory breaches and/or potential reputational risk and inform as per internal processes. 
  • Retain and maintain accurate records of vendor meetings, agendas and action plans. 
  • Share feedback with Gore Mutual’s Procurement Team highlighting any contractual breaches. 

What you will need to succeed:

  • Post secondary education, undergraduate degree or related experience
  • 5-10 years relevant work experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in managing external vendors or adjusting claims, preferably in Accident Benefits, Casualty and Legal is an asset
  • Strong knowledge of vendor management processes, standards, and tools
  • Strong relationship/interaction and negotiation skills
  • Experience in performance management and action planning for vendors
  • Previous experience leading the onboarding and off boarding of vendor
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
  • Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make recommendations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Willingness to travel as needed to visit the vendors and their locations
  • Ability to lead small projects end to end and drive project outcomes
  • Build business cases to showcase benefits of vendor management program and new vendors

The expected base salary range for this position is $81,000 - $131,000. Depending on your relevant experience, skills, qualifications, market conditions and business needs, base compensation may vary. You have the potential to earn more through Gore Mutual’s discretionary bonus program which gives you an opportunity to increase your total compensation, provided the business meets its performance targets and you meet your individual goals.

Please note: This range reflects the expected base salary for this role but may not represent the full compensation range for all experience and skill levels. During the recruitment process, we will discuss and consider how your unique qualifications align with the broader range for this position.
