The Senior Towing and Storage Adjuster plays a critical role in driving claim efficiencies and managing complex claims. This position involves a combination of technical expertise, leadership, and mentorship. 

 

What you will do:

  • Handle towing and storage issues with body shops and tow yards.  
  • Ensure that we follow the provincial guidelines for towing and storage.  
  • Ensuring that we are obtaining the towing and storage certificate as required.  
  • Working with our vendor partner (Co-part) to ensure that vehicles are released and any issues with release are addressed.  
  • Negotiating towing and storage rates and ensuring that the rates comply with provincial rates.  
  • Keeping monthly records of all saving from towing and storage.  
  • Making payments into court when needed and working with counsel as required for these payments.  
  • Handle files that are in litigation, working with counsel and attend settlement conferences and court proceedings as needed 
  • Act as a technical resource for the APD team members.  
  • Support junior Adjusters by sharing knowledge and best practices. 
  • Providing assistance in the handling of files by all APD handlers to ensure they are given opportunities to learn how to manage complex and litigated files. 
  • Provide constructive feedback on claim assessments and negotiation strategies. 
  • Foster a positive and collaborative team environment. 
  • Consult on requests for authorizations i.e. Reserve and Authority to abandon or settle claims within designation authority. 

 

What you will need to succeed:

  • 5+ years of Auto Physical Damage Adjusting 
  • 2+ years handling towing and storage files, including negotiating rates.   
  • Experience handling towing and storage.   
  • Coaching and mentoring. 
  • Paying funds into court 
  • Time Management, Analytic and Negotiation. 
  • Communication – Verbal and Written. 
  • Litigation Management.  
  • Experience in handling Auto claims. 
  • Experience with RSLA and TSSEA 

 

The expected base salary range for this position is $56,000 - $103,500. Depending on your relevant experience, skills, qualifications, market conditions and business needs, base compensation may vary. You have the potential to earn more through Gore Mutual’s discretionary bonus program which gives you an opportunity to increase your total compensation, provided the business meets its performance targets and you meet your individual goals.

Please note: This range reflects the expected base salary for this role but may not represent the full compensation range for all experience and skill levels. During the recruitment process, we will discuss and consider how your unique qualifications align with the broader range for this position.
