General Overview

The Director of Supply Chain is responsible for strategically planning and managing logistics, warehouse, transportation and customer services.  Success of the role will be measured on directing, optimizing and coordinating the full order cycle.  The goal for this department leader is to manage the entire order cycle so as to enhance business development and ensure sustainability and customer satisfaction. 

 

Policies + Procedures

  • Strategically manage processes and assess compliance with company’s policies and vision.
  • Initiate, coordinate and enforce Supply Chain operations policies and procedures.
  • Maintain standards of health and safety, hygiene and security
  • Maintain and evolve Policies and Procedures relevant to growth and changes.
  • Comply with laws, regulations and HR safety requirements

Team Management

  • Provide daily/weekly focuses to Management team
  • Create deliverables and accountability to team’s performance to measure and report.
  • Assist in selection, orientation, coaching and motivating employees
  • Supervise, coach and train Supply Chain workforce

Systems + Efficiency

  • Own the effectiveness & efficiency of all operational systems, processes and best practices that guarantee organizational well-being.
  • Purchase materials, plan inventory and ensure warehouse efficiency
  • Assist in implementation of new systems and integration of WMS to teams.
  • Direct, optimize and coordinate full order cycle
  • Keep track of quality, quantity, stock levels, delivery times, transport costs and efficiency
  • Meet cost, productivity, accuracy and timeliness targets
  • Ensure space and organization efficiencies
  • Resolve any arising problems or complaints

Communication

  • Receive feedback and monitor the quality of services provided
  • Liaise and negotiate with vendors, suppliers, manufacturers, retailers and consumers.
  • Meet with cross department leaders to balance needs and department performance.
  • Meet with department managers to communicate goals and initiatives.

Reporting

  • Set and manage annual budget.
    • Allocate specific department line items to leaders.
  • Maintain metrics and analyze data to assess performance and implement improvements.
  • Determine KPI’s for department Managers and sub-departments.
  • Perform quality controls and monitor KPI’s
  • Report KPI measurements on a scheduled basis.
  • Evaluate overall department performance by gathering, analyzing and interpreting data and metrics.

Requirements:

  • Direct experience managing/leading a warehouse team including operational site leadership
  • Direct experience in a fast-growing business
  • Understanding of inventory and order management systems and processes
  • Leadership experience in a warehouse team/environment
  • On-site presence 5 days per week
  • Experience working with 3PL is a bonus
