Production Planner - Energy Stationary Storage

What to Expect 

Gotion’s Manufacturing Operations team is looking for an experienced and driven Production Planner to work alongside manufacturing to support production goals at the Manteno, IL location. The planner will be responsible initially for scheduling production across battery module manufacturing, and ramp quickly as we stand up cell manufacturing. The planner will also be responsible for structuring and performing analysis to support the road map for production capacity changes across production lines. 

 

What You’ll Do 

  • Create 0-1 production schedules that align with demand and capacity, ensuring efficient use of resources. 
  • Analyze production capacity and demand to inform strategic decisions and roadmap planning. 
  • Collaborate with manufacturing and support teams to develop and improve processes, including production batch sizes, material transfer, and controls. 
  • Respond to unexpected changes, such as production shortfalls or material shortages, by providing information, impact assessments, and options to downstream shops. 
  • Generate and publish production performance metrics and forecasts to identify potential supply chain risks. 
  • Communicate production plans, revisions, and performance to stakeholders, including manufacturing, support, and business teams. 
  • Assist in implementing inventory control solutions to minimize shortages and optimize inventory flow. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management to adapt to changing business needs. 

 

What You’ll Bring 

  • Degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering/Operations, Supply Chain management or the equivalent experience 
  • Demonstrated high volume production planning experience in a manufacturing environment, ideally with minimum 1 years’ experience structuring and building analytical models 
  • Ability to spot process improvement opportunities and influence others to make change 
  • Good organizational and project management skills. (role requires juggling projects, daily tasks, and urgent questions) 
  • Ability to create clear and impactful reports and PowerPoint presentations, effectively conveying complex information to diverse audiences. 
  • Ability to solve problems in fast-paced environment with minimal supervision 
  • Ability to recognize opportunities for improvement in operations and reporting/information visibility 
  • MS Outlook, Teams, Office including Excel experience (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, etc.). More advanced Excel modeling skills a plus 
  • Experience working with ERP systems preferred, with SAP experience a plus
