Position Summary:
Job Summary:
The Customer Audit Engineer will be responsible for leading customer factory audit preparations, managing the end-to-end audit process, and ensuring closure of findings. This role will also oversee internal process audits (e.g., VDA 6.3), working cross-functionally to implement improvements, mitigate risks, and maintain compliance with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Customer Audit Management
- Lead the preparation, execution, and follow-up for customer factory audits, ensuring full compliance with customer requirements.
- Act as the primary liaison for customer audit teams, coordinating with internal departments to collect required documentation and data.
- Conduct risk identification and self-assessments to proactively address potential non-conformities before customer audits.
- Develop and track action plans for addressing audit findings, ensuring timely closure of issues with high-risk escalations as needed.
- Maintain audit documentation and provide real-time updates to leadership regarding audit progress and compliance risks.
Internal Process Audits (VDA 6.3 & Other Standards)
- Develop, plan, and execute internal process audits based on industry standards (e.g., VDA 6.3, IATF 16949).
- Create audit checklists and conduct process audits on production lines to evaluate compliance with quality system requirements.
- Document audit findings, generate reports, and drive root cause analysis for identified non-conformities.
- Lead corrective and preventive action implementation, ensuring a closed-loop resolution process with regular follow-ups.
- Organize and present audit performance data through visual reporting, tracking continuous improvement efforts.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in quality audits, customer audits, or process audits within a manufacturing environment (battery, automotive, or electronics preferred).
- Strong knowledge of VDA 6.3, IATF 16949, ISO 9001, and customer audit requirements.
- Experience leading internal and external audits, including risk assessments and compliance tracking.
- Proficiency in audit documentation, data collection, and reporting.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with an eye for detail.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments.
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $87,000 - $100,000 + 15% bonus + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
