Job Summary:
Gotion is seeking a Visual Systems Engineer to design, implement, and maintain vision systems utilizing Charge-Coupled Device (CCD) technology for our 40GW battery cell manufacturing facility in Illinois. This role will focus on developing and optimizing imaging solutions to ensure precision, quality, and efficiency in battery cell production processes. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in CCD-based systems to support automated inspection, defect detection, and process monitoring.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and integrate CCD-based vision systems for quality control, including inspection of battery cell components (e.g., electrodes, welds, and casings).
- Develop algorithms and software to process and analyze images captured by CCD cameras for real-time defect detection.
- Collaborate with robotics and automation teams to align vision systems with robotic workflows (e.g., guiding robotic arms or verifying assembly accuracy).
- Calibrate and maintain CCD equipment to ensure consistent performance in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
- Troubleshoot vision system issues and implement improvements to enhance accuracy and reliability.
- Ensure vision systems meet safety and industry standards for battery manufacturing.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Optics, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience working with CCD technology or vision systems, preferably in manufacturing or industrial settings.
- Proficiency in image processing software and programming languages (e.g., OpenCV, Python, C++).
- Experience with integrating vision systems into automated production lines.
- Strong understanding of optics, lighting, and sensor technologies.
- Knowledge of battery manufacturing or precision assembly processes is a plus.
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $80k - $120k + 15% bonus + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
