
Metrology Technician

Role Description
The Metrology Technician is responsible for performing, documenting, gauge calibration recall, receiving, in-process and final inspection gauging to ensure conformance to applicable requirements.
Responsibilities (may include but not limited to):
- Applies knowledge of GD&T and Metrology principles, MSA, GR&R, Statistical Process Control (SPC) to ensure product gauging meets requirements.
- Resolve issues and answer questions from Operators as well as from Inspectors and Engineers.
- Train other inspectors and technicians.
- Participate in special projects related to tooling, fixtures, and gages.
- Identifies cost reduction projects utilizing Lean Manufacturing principle.
- Assist with creation of instructions for using inspection tools and systems.
- Provide inspection support to all departments in the organization, perform part inspection, and help with FAIs.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required
- Data entry and computer skills (including Microsoft Excel)
- Knowledge of metrology gauging and strong working knowledge of GD&T (read and interpret)
- Knowledge of reading blueprints and understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
- Knowledge of mechanical inspection and proficiency in the use of manual & visual inspection equipment: e.g., calipers, gauges, micrometers, digital indicators, surface plates, microscopes, profilometers
- Experience in a manufacturing environment and mechanical Inspection
- Experience with inspection equipment and tools (such as portable CMM, micrometers, calipers)
Desired Qualifications:
- MiniTab experience is a plus
- Updating and creating work instructions

- This is a 1st shift position. 1st shift is Monday-Friday 7am-3:30pm.

Base pay is one part of our total compensation package at Gotion, and is determined within a range. This provides you with the opportunity to progress as you grow and advance your career at Gotion. The base pay range for this role is shown below, and will depend on your skills, qualifications, experiences, and location.
Expected Pay Range
$26 - $30 USD
