Job Description

The Vice President, Marketing will be a strategic and hands-on leader responsible for driving the full-funnel marketing strategy to accelerate Govini’s growth and market presence. This role requires a proven leader to build, execute, and measure integrated campaigns that generate qualified leads, nurture relationships, and amplify our brand's message across all channels. A strong emphasis will be placed on data-driven decision-making and seamless collaboration across Go-to-Market (GTM) teams.

This role is a full-time position located out of our office in Arlington, VA. 

This role may require up to 5% travel.

Scope of Responsibilities

  • Paid Media Strategy & Execution: Oversee and manage the strategy, budget, and execution for all paid media initiatives, ensuring optimal ROI and alignment with GTM objectives.
  • Owned Channel Optimization: Lead the optimization of Govini’s owned digital channels, including the corporate website and email marketing programs, to improve user experience, conversion rates, and audience engagement.
  • Content Amplification: Work closely with the Content team to develop and implement strategies for amplifying core content assets through paid media channels and other promotional opportunities.
  • Events Integration: Collaborate with the Events team to ensure marketing efforts provide geo-targeted support and seamless integration for all events, conferences, and webinars.
  • CRM and Marketing Technology: Drive the integration and effective utilization of Salesforce and other key marketing technology tools to ensure accurate reporting, lead management, and campaign tracking.
  • Lead Generation & Nurturing: Establish strong coordination with Sales and GTM teams to develop new, high-quality leads and to coordinate the successful cultivation and progression of leads and strategic relationships through the funnel.
  • Team Leadership and Development: Mentor and lead the marketing team, fostering a culture of high performance, experimentation, and accountability.
  • Performance Measurement: Define key performance indicators (KPIs) and regularly report on marketing effectiveness, providing insights and recommendations to executive leadership.

Qualifications

  • U.S. Citizenship is required
Required Skills: 
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
  • Current possession of a U.S. security clearance, or the willingness and ability to obtain one
  • 10+ years of progressive marketing leadership experience, preferably in a B2B or B2G environment within the defense, national security, or technology sectors.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and managing full-funnel digital and paid media strategies, including SEO/SEM, display, and social channels, with a focus on maximizing ROI.
  • Deep, hands-on experience with CRM systems, particularly SalesForce, and other key marketing technology platforms for reporting, lead management, and campaign execution.
  • Proven ability to build strong, collaborative relationships with Sales and Go-to-Market teams to drive high-quality lead generation and pipeline acceleration.
  • Strong data-driven mindset with the ability to define KPIs, analyze marketing performance, and translate insights into actionable recommendations for executive leadership.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of articulating complex marketing strategies and results clearly to all stakeholders.
  • Exceptional leadership and team-building skills, with experience mentoring and developing high-performing marketing teams.

  • Experience in or exposure to the national security, intelligence, or defense technology space
  • Experience in a startup or other entrepreneurial environment
