We are seeking an experienced and dynamic technical product manager to lead the GovOS Core Platform which enables GovOS Business Applications. This position reports to the Group Product Leader and will be instrumental in providing technical product direction to the platform engineering organization as it relates to new services and applications in a cloud-first, multi-tenant SaaS software environment.
As the Sr. Product Manager for Platform, you will be responsible for defining the roadmap, epics, stories for GovOS’s platform, which is the backbone of business-critical applications such as business tax, business licenses, payments, financial reporting, public records, cloud search. You will drive the product roadmap of embeddable UI components, platform services, and no-code platform. This highly technical role requires expertise in platform product management, cloud technologies, and a strong understanding at least one of the business domains such one of the finance, tax, business license, government services, public records such as property deeds, liens etc.
Responsibilities
Platform Roadmap & Epics:
- Lead the development of embeddable UI components that improve user experience, focusing on ease of use for both government employees and the public/constituents.
- Develop and communicate a long-term roadmap that leverages platform services, microservices, and no-code automation to solve business challenges across various government functions.
0 to 1 Product Management:
- Lead new product initiatives from 0 to 1, driving the initial ideation, identifying customer pain points, product development, and successful launch of new platform features and business applications.
Guide early-stage product development, working closely with engineering teams to ensure the product aligns with business applications’ needs and offers high-value solutions to end customers (county/city/state government offices).
Technical Expertise in Platform Architecture:
- Good knowledge of use cases around available search technologies such as Open Search, Elastic Search, Lucene Search.
- Collaborate with engineering to guide product architecture containing platform services such as payments, authentication, notifications, messaging, audit etc.
Workflow Automation and No-Code Platform Development:
- Lead initiatives to expand the platform’s no-code capabilities, empowering non-technical users to automate complex workflows and build custom solutions without writing code.
- Enhance the platform’s automation features, allowing users to design, automate, and monitor workflows such as business license applications, tax filings, payments, and financial reporting with minimal manual effort.
Performance Monitoring and Continuous Improvement:
- Define and monitor KPIs for platform performance, feature adoption, customer satisfaction, and efficiency improvements driven by automation and no-code workflows.
- Use data-driven insights to continuously iterate on features and ensure they meet user needs, reduce manual work, and improve service delivery.
Qualifications
- Experience: 4+ years of experience in product management, with at least 3 years working on technical digital product in SaaS or PaaS environment.
- Education: Engineering degree in Computer Science/Information Technology/Data Science or a related field. An MBA/MS or advanced degree in Management fields is a plus.
- 0 to 1 Product Management: Proven experience leading new product initiatives from concept to launch, driving the ideation, development, and scaling of business-critical platform features.
- Technical Expertise: Strong background in cloud technologies, microservices, search services, and platform services, with experience in building scalable and secure solutions for business-critical applications.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate complex business needs into actionable product features.
- Communication: Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to interact with technical and non-technical stakeholders effectively.
- Adaptability: Comfortable in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to pivot quickly in response to market demands or changes in customer needs.
