Finance & Data Analyst

The Finance & Data Analyst is a seasoned finance professional with experience in restaurants and retail. The Finance & Data Analyst will be responsible for all financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis. They will work closely with the leadership team on strategic decision making, capital allocation and board/investor relations.
This role serves as the connective tissue between finance and operations, translating numbers into narratives that inform decisions at every level of the organization.
Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities:
Job duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
Financial Reporting & Analysis (50%)
- Own the daily, weekly and monthly reporting package – explain variances to budget, update rolling forecast, and surface actionable insights for leadership
- Build and maintain financial models, projections, valuations, and ROI analyses to support strategic decision-making
- Build and maintain dashboards tailored to different management levels
- Make data-driven recommendations to improve efficiency and profitability across locations using data
- Utilize AI & BI tools and techniques (e.g., Claude, Tableau) to stand up dashboards and support data analysis, automation, and insight generation
Financial & Capital Planning (40%)
- Partner with GMs, the culinary team, and senior leadership to build annual operating budgets, marketing budgets, and capex budgets
- Update the 5-year business model, keeping assumptions current as the portfolio evolves
- Create detailed financial pro formas for new restaurant investment opportunities and management opportunities, including returns analysis and capital structure analyses
- Build CIMs and investor presentations for future opportunities, crafting compelling investment narratives
- Assist in the preparation of materials for lender and investor reporting, ensuring compliance with any applicable financial covenants or reporting obligations
Other Duties & Ad Hoc Projects (10%)
- Support the preparation of board materials, investor updates, and other executive-level presentations
- Support new systems implementations (POS, scheduling, inventory, BI tools)
- Participate in cross-functional projects spanning operations, marketing, and finance, serving as the analytical resource for the broader team
- Ad hoc analysis and special projects as needed

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related analytical field
- 1–3 years of experience in an analytical or FP&A role; background in corporate finance, investment banking, management consulting, or restaurant/hospitality finance preferred, but not required
- Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow)
- Basic data querying skills is a plus to build automated dashboards and trackers
- Proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets; experience with BI tools (Tableau, etc.) or restaurant tech platforms (Restaurant365, SpotOn, Meez etc.) a plus
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to translate numbers into a clear narrative
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills – able to present findings concisely to both operators and executives
- Highly organized, deadline-driven, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, hospitality environment

$120,000 - $130,000 USD
