IT & Business Systems Lead
Gradial is a Seattle-based startup enabling digital experiences at the speed of thought. We empower marketers and creatives to implement their ideas directly, with software that adapts over time. Our platform automates website and design system updates, large-scale migrations to new design systems, and continuous content optimization while adhering to company and product brands.
Backed by world class investors, we’re looking to scale our platform and expand our team. At Gradial, we operate with extreme ownership, bias towards action and critical path planning. We tackle problems from first principles, question assumptions, and find creative solutions. If you want to take risks, work on groundbreaking technology, and see the direct impact of your work, Gradial is where you belong.
The Role
As IT & Business Systems Lead at Gradial, you’ll build and own the internal systems foundation that keeps the company fast, secure, and ready to scale. You’ll be the first dedicated hire in this area, with real ownership from day one across devices, identity, access, office security, network reliability, and the internal tooling that keeps work moving. This is a hands-on role for someone who likes being useful immediately, fixing what is broken, and design better systems before the company outgrows them.
You’ll support an in-person team while creating the processes, automations, and guardrails that make Gradial easier to operate as we grow. Some days that means solving urgent IT issues. Other days it means tightening access controls, improving onboarding, or building lightweight internal tools with scripts, APIs, low-code platforms, or AI. This role will suit someone who operates as a true owner, not just an administrator.
What you’ll own
- Own device and endpoint management across provisioning, configuration, policy enforcement, lifecycle tracking, recovery, and support
- Run core identity and access systems including Microsoft 365, Microsoft Entra, Intune, and Apple Business Manager
- Manage provisioning and deprovisioning across business-critical tools with strong access controls and clean execution
- Own office security basics including badges, physical access, and practical workplace security processes
- Keep the corporate network reliable and step in quickly when office systems or connectivity break
- Build internal tooling and automations using scripting, APIs, low-code tools, and AI where it creates real leverage
- Improve onboarding and offboarding across devices, accounts, permissions, and onsite readiness
- Establish clear standards for permissions, endpoint policies, system hygiene, and documentation
- Identify manual or messy internal workflows and turn them into systems that are simpler, faster, and easier to maintain
- Support light compliance ownership through controls, documentation, access reviews, and operational readiness
What you’ll bring
- 4+ years of experience across IT, business systems, internal tools, or security operations
- Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 administration, Microsoft Entra, and MDM profile management
- Practical experience with Intune and Apple Business Manager in real operating environments
- Experience owning endpoint management, access provisioning, and account lifecycle workflows across a modern SaaS stack
- Working knowledge of office networking and physical security systems such as badge access
- Ability to build useful workflows or automations with scripting, APIs, low-code platforms, or AI-assisted tools
- Strong judgment around security, access, and operational reliability
- Comfort owning a function from day one and operating without a lot of structure
- Clear communication and a practical, service-minded approach when supporting teammates
Nice to haves
- Experience supporting light compliance work such as audit prep, access reviews, or control documentation
- Familiarity with tools like Rippling, Notion, and similar internal business systems
- Experience as an early internal IT or systems hire in a startup or high-growth company
Compensation
The salary range for this position is $150,000 – $180,000 annually. Final compensation will be determined based on factors such as experience, skills, and qualifications. In addition to base salary, this role may be eligible for performance-based bonuses and equity awards. Gradial offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental & vision insurance, 401K retirement plan, paid time off, paid sick leave and other employee wellness programs.
You'll thrive here if you...
- Learn quickly and actively seek out new challenges.
- Embrace AI as a core tool for problem-solving, creativity and scale.
- Show a strong work ethic, high ownership and bias toward action.
- Communicate clearly, directly and with curiosity.
- Thrive in fast-paced, hyper-growth environments where building better > maintaining status quo.
What we offer
- Meaningful equity and competitive salary
- Comprehensive health, dental and vision coverage
- Fast-paced environment with autonomy and ownership
- Real impact, zero bureaucracy
- A front-row seat to building category-defining AI infrastructure
AI Literacy & Interviewing Tools
As an AI-first company, we prioritize AI literacy as a core competency in our hiring decisions. We’re excited by candidates who thoughtfully apply AI tools in their work, but during interviews we’re focused on you. This is your opportunity to show how you think, communicate, and solve problems. Over-reliance on AI-generated responses during the interview process (especially when it obscures your own voice) will result in disqualification. We want to understand your unique perspective and how you approach challenges, both with and without AI.

If you have any questions about how your information is used, please refer to our Privacy Policy or contact us directly.
