PR and Social Media Associate EST (Remote, USA)

Grafana Labs is seeking a dynamic and strategic PR and Social Media Associate to work closely with our Senior Public Relations Manager and Lead Senior Social Media Manager to amplify our brand narrative and media presence. The ideal candidate will have expertise in media relations, social content strategy, and communications to elevate Grafana's visibility in the tech ecosystem, craft compelling narratives, and strategically position our thought leadership across key industry platforms. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Social Media: 
    • Support the Senior Social Media Manager in developing and executing comprehensive social media content and campaigns that align with Grafana Labs’ brand voice — highlighting product innovations, events, community achievements, and industry thought leadership
    • Assist in publishing and scheduling content across Grafana Labs’ official social media channels (LinkedIn, X, FB, BlueSky, Mastodon, and YouTube) 
    • Monitor conversations/interactions on social media and engage with community members across social media channels and relevant sub-Reddit threads 
  • Amplification:
    • Assist in managing Grafana Labs’ employee advocacy program; develop content for GTM teams and relevant community members, and coordinate with content creators to amplify key messages and announcements
  • Media and Influencer Relations: 
    • Support the Senior PR Manager with media relations efforts, including proactively pitching stories, podcasts, and bylines; submitting awards; securing press coverage; coordinating interviews with company executives; and building/maintaining relationships with key technology and industry journalists/influencers 
    • Monitor and analyze media coverage, providing regular reports and recommendations for strategic communications improvements
    • Provide on-site support at company and industry events, including staffing executive and customer interviews
    • Help manage, schedule, and publish Grafana’s award-winning Big Tent podcast
  • Support internal communications coordination, helping to amplify team achievements and corporate milestones through appropriate internal channels

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field
  • 2-3 years of marketing experience, preferably in social media marketing or public relations
  • Experience leveraging AI tools to enhance brainstorming and creative workflows 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities and strong interpersonal skills
  • Willingness to travel (~20%) globally
  • Proficiency in Sprout Social, Muckrack, BusinessWire is a plus
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new marketing trends and technologies
  • Proficiency in Spanish or French is a plus

  • A basic understanding of the tech media landscape (background supporting PR within the DevOps, observability, or open source industry a major plus!)

In the United States, the base compensation range for this role is $86,000 - $104,000.  Actual compensation may vary based on level, experience, and skillset as assessed in the interview process. Benefits include equity, bonus (if applicable), and other benefits listed on our careers page.
