Retention Marketing Manager

An instrumental part of GOAT Group, the Marketing team oversees a wide range of activities, which aim to build awareness, consideration and loyalty for our brands. As a member of this team, you will work to execute thoughtful, data-driven marketing campaigns that drive meaningful growth for the company.

We’re looking for a Retention Marketing Manager to join our Marketing and Communications (Marcom) team. You’ll work closely with Product, Brand, Data, Merchandising, and Performance Marketing teams to strategize and execute marketing campaigns that keep buyers coming back to Grailed, our community-driven peer-to-peer marketplace. You’ll own buyer communications and lead projects that boost engagement, repeat sales, and loyalty — all while focusing on real, measurable results.

In this role you will:

  • Manage buyer messaging across email, push, and in-app to drive engagement and retention
  • Understand buyer personas and lifecycle stages to shape targeted marketing efforts
  • Become the go-to expert on buyer behavior and strategies to grow customer lifetime value
  • Oversee A/B testing and quarterly planning to drive continuous improvement
  • Collaborate with data to apply lifecycle insights and guide engagement strategies
  • Personalize messaging through creative testing based on behavior and demographics
  • Share performance insights regularly (daily, weekly, monthly) to inform strategy
  • Work cross-functionally with brand, product, data, and merchandising teams
  • Turn data into actionable insights to influence direction and performance
  • Advocate for the user with thoughtful, retention-focused decision-making
  • Manage multiple projects with strong prioritization and attention to detail

We are looking for:

  • 4–5+ years of lifecycle/CRM marketing experience, ideally with mobile-first products
  • Results-driven with a strong sense of ownership and accountability for campaign outcomes
  • Strategic thinker with a proven ability to connect lifecycle initiatives to business goals
  • Hands-on experience with CRM platforms such as Braze, Iterable, or similar tools
  • Innovative and comfortable taking risks — not afraid to test bold ideas and iterate quickly
  • Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to advocate for the user and turn insights into action
  • Highly analytical with the ability to distill complex data into clear, actionable presentations tailored to various stakeholders
  • Deep understanding of how to design and measure A/B tests — not just what to test, but why it matters and how it connects to KPIs
  • Strong project management and communication skills; able to lead and collaborate across cross-functional teams
  • Experience working with customer data to power personalized marketing and clearly communicate technical requirements across stakeholders
  • High attention to detail with a commitment to quality across all aspects of execution

Bonus Points:

  • Experience with tools like Braze, Iterable, Amplitude, Looker, or Snowflake
  • Experience with scripting languages like Liquid
  • SQL or data query skills
  • You have experience in other marketing channels (SMS, Content Cards, User Acquisition)

To determine starting pay within the hiring range, we carefully consider a variety of factors, including primary work location, role/level, a candidate’s skills, experience, market demands, and internal parity. If you believe you belong to any of the categories of protected veterans listed below, please indicate by making the appropriate selection. As a government contractor subject to the Vietnam Era Veterans Readjustment Assistance Act (VEVRAA), we request this information in order to measure the effectiveness of the outreach and positive recruitment efforts we undertake pursuant to VEVRAA. Classification of protected categories is as follows:

A "disabled veteran" is one of the following: a veteran of the U.S. military, ground, naval or air service who is entitled to compensation (or who but for the receipt of military retired pay would be entitled to compensation) under laws administered by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs; or a person who was discharged or released from active duty because of a service-connected disability.

Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
