The Opportunity
To achieve our ambitious goals, we’re looking for a Brand Lead to join our Design Foundations team. This pivotal role will drive the brand identity within the product experience, partnering to create a cohesive, scalable brand system that resonates with customer expectations, builds trust, and engages across touch points.
The ideal candidate has expertise as a design lead, with deep brand experience, combined with the ability to guide brand expression across product interfaces, connect the brand system through the UI, and craft patterns that empower them to easily navigate our products. They will collaborate across Engineering, Product, Design, and Marketing Creative to align company objectives with brand patterns across the product development lifecycle, with an empathetic and a growth mindset.
As a Brand Lead in product design, you will significantly contribute to the company's design culture, innovation, and long-term business success. This role requires a blend of strategic thinking, design expertise, leadership skills, and a commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive design environment.
In this role, you will:
- Partner to execute a strategic brand identity across the entire product ecosystem, helping to define the long-term brand vision to build a cohesive, accessible, and ownable product experience.
- Serve as a thought leader to evolve our design language and UI patterns, driving cohesion and elevating design standards through consistent, high-quality execution, documentation, and refinement.
- Inspire and mentor designers across teams, helping expand design skills, while fostering a collaborative and innovative design culture.
- Shape and uphold design standards across teams to maintain a high-quality experience.
Qualifications
- Has a strong portfolio showcasing brand systems in product, strategic thinking, and a systematic approach to designing end-to-end experiences that serve user needs and business goals.
- Proactively sets and achieves goals, driving projects forward with initiative, building consensus and accountability through completion.
- Advanced skills in Figma; experience with design system library structure.
- Prototyping tools like Principle, After Effects, or Protopie to bring brand expressions to life is a plus.
- Thrives on solving user problems that significantly impact key metrics, leading discussions to achieve strategic goals with a holistic mindset.
- Demonstrated experience in guiding and mentoring team members, with a passion for fostering a positive, inclusive design culture.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; confidence in articulating design rationale and presenting to cross-functional stakeholders at all levels.

Grammarly takes a market-based approach to compensation, which means base pay may vary depending on your location. Our US locations are categorized into two compensation zones based on proximity to our hub locations.
Base pay may vary considerably depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The expected salary ranges for this position are outlined below by compensation zone and may be modified in the future.
Zone 1: $305,000 – $372,000/year (USD)
