The Opportunity
Imagine a world where every team has an intelligent agent at their fingertips—ready to automate, assist, and amplify their work. We're building that world, and we need a Technical Program Manager to make "there's an agent for that!" the reality across our organization.
You'll be the connective tissue between our platform engineers building the foundational agent infrastructure and the teams racing to create agents that solve real problems for millions of users. Your superpower? Seeing around corners—anticipating what capabilities teams need before they know they need them, removing blockers before they become roadblocks, and turning platform features into customer magic.
Here's what makes this role electric:
You're not managing timelines in a vacuum. You're orchestrating an AI symphony—where platform capabilities, product vision, and customer needs all have to hit their notes perfectly. One day you're working with infrastructure teams on the primitives that make agents possible. The next, you're partnering with product teams to understand why their agent use case needs a capability that doesn't exist yet.
This is high-velocity, high-ambiguity, high-impact work. The agent landscape shifts weekly. Customer expectations evolve daily. And you'll be the strategic operator who keeps us building the right things, in the right order, at the right time—ensuring every agent we ship delights customers rather than just demonstrating technical prowess.
The bottom line: You'll shape how Grammarly becomes an AI-agent-first company, influencing the decisions that determine what's possible and the execution discipline that ensures we deliver. If the idea of being at the epicenter of our AI transformation gets your pulse racing, keep reading.
Key Responsibilities
-
Drive execution of cross-functional and strategic programs. Own end-to-end delivery of complex agent initiatives spanning platform, product, and design. Set the cadence, clear blockers, and ensure we ship capabilities that create real customer value.
-
Identify dependencies and align teams. Map connections between capabilities and agent use cases. Spot silos and conflicts early, then bring the right people together to align priorities and maintain a cohesive agent ecosystem.
-
Establish frameworks and best practices for agent development. Create the playbooks, templates, and processes that help teams build agents faster and more consistently. Define quality standards and scale them across the organization.
-
Drive strategic planning and roadmap alignment. Facilitate decisions on which agent initiatives to pursue and platform investments to prioritize. Synthesize inputs across the business to create clarity and maintain strategic coherence as we scale.
-
Champion rapid experimentation and learning. Enable teams to move fast in the ambiguous AI agent landscape. Set up lightweight processes for prototyping, create feedback loops, and foster an environment where teams take smart risks and pivot based on customer insights.
Qualifications
-
7+ years driving complex technical programs in fast-scaling tech companies—whether as a TPM or Engineering Manager, where you've launched products, built developer platforms, or orchestrated cross-functional initiatives.
-
A track record of designing systems that scale. You've built frameworks, processes, or tools that helped engineering teams ship faster and more consistently. Bonus points if you've worked on AI/ML products, developer platforms, API ecosystems, or infrastructure that other teams build on top of.
-
The ability to operate at multiple altitudes. You're equally comfortable diving into technical architecture discussions, facilitating strategic planning sessions with leadership, and rolling up your sleeves to unblock a critical dependency. You know when each altitude is needed.
-
The ability to speak multiple languages fluently: technical security concepts, business priorities, regulatory requirements, and executive strategy. You translate between these worlds effortlessly, building bridges where others see barriers.
-
You're a self-starter who connects dots others miss. You don't wait for perfect instructions—you gather context, identify gaps, and chart the path forward. You juggle multiple high-stakes initiatives without dropping balls or losing sight of strategic goals.
-
Data informs your decisions, relationships drive your impact. You bring metrics and evidence to discussions, but you know that influencing change requires understanding what motivates different stakeholders. You adapt your approach based on what each audience needs to hear.
-
You thrive in ambiguity and move with urgency. Shifting priorities don't rattle you—they energize you. You bias toward action while maintaining the strategic perspective to know when to slow down and get alignment.
-
You embody EAGER values: You operate with integrity (ethical), pivot gracefully when circumstances change (adaptable), persist through complex challenges (gritty), understand diverse perspectives (empathetic), and deliver work that raises the bar (remarkable).
-
You live the MOVE principles: You ship quickly and iterate fearlessly. You're obsessed with protecting customer data as a form of value creation. You measure yourself by outcomes, not hours logged. And you engage in robust debate because you trust your teammates and know that friction creates better solutions.
