We incorporate fun and play, infusing magic and joy to create experiences that amaze and delight. It all starts with the right team — a team that deeply cares about values, customers, and each other.

We’re not solving a small problem, nor are we addressing a small market. We’re reshaping the fundamentals of how people work. We’re combining premium product craft with enterprise-scale capabilities to rethink how individuals and teams should fundamentally collaborate. We are building a household brand and a worldwide organization. We are here to do our best work, and we hope you are too.

The Opportunity

You’ll join the Superhuman Mail team to design foundational workflows in our core product. You’ll define and shape AI-powered experiences that help users focus on what matters most, so they can move faster through their day. You’ll partner closely with product managers, engineers, and researchers to set the vision for your team and push the boundaries of what’s possible.

This is a senior role for a designer who has a deep understanding of design and interaction patterns, stays abreast of emerging trends and best practices, and has strong instincts for how AI can meaningfully augment human productivity. You’ll own and drive design work through every stage of the process, from well-executed ideas and sketches to interactive prototypes, high-fidelity designs, and final implementation. You’ll work with engineering to ensure that high-quality, delightful experiences get built and delivered on time.

In this role, you will:
  • Define and shape AI-powered workflows: Own the end-to-end design of key workflows in Superhuman Mail, helping users focus on what matters most so they can move faster through their day.
  • Own design from concept to implementation: Drive design work through every stage of the process: crafting well-executed ideas and sketches, interactive prototypes, high-fidelity designs, and final implementation.
  • Conduct research and competitor analysis: Perform qualitative and quantitative research to understand customers, and competitor analysis to understand the landscape. Leverage customer insights to enhance the product experience and amplify user engagement.
  • Set the bar for craft: Elevate the design culture at Superhuman by pursuing remarkable quality in your design craft and producing consistent, high-quality work.
  • Influence product strategy: Partner with product, research, and data to set the vision for your team, and build a roadmap of projects that improve company objectives and metrics. Engage with stakeholders across the company, effectively communicating design updates to leadership for feedback and approval.
  • Ensure quality delivery: Work with engineering to ensure that high-quality, delightful experiences get built and delivered on time. Advise product and engineering teammates through a deep understanding of design and interaction patterns.
  • Be part of a supportive team: Work alongside a collaborative group of designers who give thoughtful feedback, share ideas openly, and help each other grow.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in similar product design roles.
  • Demonstrated mastery of product design fundamentals, including visual and interaction design, typography, layout, and visual hierarchy. You’re an avid prototyper, and you sweat the details to build a premium, polished experience for users.
  • Experience and curiosity with AI-powered products, including designing for trust, speed, and user control.
  • Comfort working end-to-end, from early discovery and wireframes to high-fidelity designs, prototypes, and shipped products.
  • Strong collaborator with a bias to action. Excited by the opportunity to create clarity when the direction is ambiguous.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently. Able to proactively manage priorities across multiple projects, collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, and thrive in fast-paced, results-driven environments.
  • Portfolio showing senior-level problem framing, interaction design, and high-quality execution.
  • Location: We’re open to you joining us in our San Francisco, Seattle, or New York offices, or from a home office anywhere in the United States or Canada.

If you believe you belong to any of the categories of protected veterans listed below, please indicate by making the appropriate selection. As a government contractor subject to the Vietnam Era Veterans Readjustment Assistance Act (VEVRAA), we request this information in order to measure the effectiveness of the outreach and positive recruitment efforts we undertake pursuant to VEVRAA. Classification of protected categories is as follows:

A "disabled veteran" is one of the following: a veteran of the U.S. military, ground, naval or air service who is entitled to compensation (or who but for the receipt of military retired pay would be entitled to compensation) under laws administered by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs; or a person who was discharged or released from active duty because of a service-connected disability.

Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
